ANTHONY'S P.O.V

I had to admit, it was pretty funny that Jason got caught stealing. I chuckled to myself and looked out the window. New Brunswick was a pretty place, and it was a Province I knew well. I grew up there and moved to the states when I was 10 so it was safe to say most of my memories were of the states but I remembered New Brunswick pretty well.

I used to love running around the potato fields with my brothers. They'd try to catch me and I'd throw potatoes at them with my telekenesis. They's use theirs to throw them back and sometimes they'd team up against me and lift me with their telekenesis together. Then we'd flop down  on the grass and look up at the sky and feel the sun on our faces. Those were good times.

I sighed happily and looked at Zoe out of the corner of my eye. She looked calm as she drove and I felt butterflies dance in my stomach. My cheeks heated up. She couldn't know about my crush on her, she would never like me back. But she was so beautiful with night black hair and warm brown eyes framed with long lashes. Who wouldn't love her?

And her personality was fantastic. She was so kind and caring but also kind of scary when she got mad. She was powerful empath and living with her was an interesting emotional journey when she emitted. Panic filled me. What if she could feel my crush on her? She could feel other emotions, why not that?

I shoved my feelings for her aside and Jason turned on the radio. A beautiful harmonious note rang out sounding ancient. I glanced at Caleb who looked peaceful  and nodded in time with the music. I smiled. He was a fun dude and I hoped that girl would help him. He looked kind of faded like a watered down version of a person. That was the way he always looked to me and Zoe.

His aura was was weird and dark. It covered him like a cloak, the weirdness according to Jason meant he was gifted. It was weird, seeing an aura. It was a talent only sorcerers had but with Caleb it was different. Everyone gifted could see his aura. I thought back to what he said about the girl he saw. My heart swelled at the thought of her. There was almost no doubt in my mind that she was the new spirit kid and i couldn't wait to meet her.

My thoughts went back to the music on the radio. It was sweet and instrumental but it sounded old. There was an ancient beauty to it. I looked back at Caleb who seemed to be dancing now with his eyes closed. Damn he really got into it. He flickered for a moment. Just a moment and my heart skipped a beat. Could I have seen right?

I shook my head. I was just tired, he looked as visible as ever. There was nothing to worry about. I looked back out the window and then the music changed tone abruptly.I looked back at Caleb and gasped. His eyes were closed and he had a smile on his face but I could hardly see him. I tried to shake him to get his attention. But my hand passed right through him. I yelped. "Caleb!" I exclaimed and then he faded completely. He was gone.

"GUYS!" I practically yelled. Jason jumped. "What is it! What's wrong?!" "Caleb's gone."

CALEB'S P.O.V

The next thing I noticed was that I was sitting in a cold mud puddle. I tried to get up but the mud sucked me back down headfirst. I spluttered and haphazardly wiped it out of my face. Looking ahead I could see some flags in the distance. I was near the highway but that left my next question: how the hell did I get here? and where were the others?

I trudged through the grass and made my way up to the highway. Walking on the highway was nervewracking but it beat walking alongside it so I sucked it up and started walking. Cars passed by at high speeds and the wind blew powerfully. I shivered and drew my sweater closer but it was made no difference; it was soaked and caked in mud anyway.
