The guys were really upset. They didn't blame me thank god but I couldn't help feeling guilty. "It wasn't like you could have stopped them." Jason said once we got on the road. He sat next to me in the back while Zoe drove. I nodded yawning. "I guess man." I closed my eyes for a moment and I was asleep in seconds.

I heard the faintly bubbling fountain and smiled. I knew exactly where I was. I opened my eyes and I was in a park this time. The girl hugged me. "Caleb it's been so long! I can feel you getting closer but you need to hurry up okay? We don't have much time they're coming for us and I need your help." She gasped and faded out of the scene.

"Oh god!" I said grabbing at the air. I was still here but where was she? "Hello? Girl? Please  come back!" I pleaded. She faded back in wincing. "Time's running out for both of us Caleb! I'm hurt and I can't fight them off. You've noticed that lately your friends are seeing you less and less? Well that's going to get worse if you don't hurry up. You're going to fade out of existence and then we'll all be screwed. Just keep going you'll find me in-"

She was cut off and the dream ended abruptly. I shot awake gasping for breath. "No!" I exclaimed. "No come back!" "What is it?" Jason asked. "The girl-" I stumbled over my words. "I was with the girl. She's hurt and she was about to tell me where to find her but we got cut off." Jason looked concerned. "We have to find her quickly. Especially if she's the spirit. DId she say anything else?" he asked.

"That she needs help and 'They' are coming. But she has never told me who 'they' are. She also said that if I don't find her soon I'm going to fade out of existence." He choked on the water he was drinking. "What?! you should have started with that!" I shrugged trying to forget  about it.

"I think Zoe should knock you out so you can try to connect with her again." Jason suggested. "If it's okay with Zoe, I'd like to try." I said. She smiled. "I'll do it but I have to warn you since I'm not under any intense emotion, I'm going to be a little emotional."

Anthony chuckled. "I'll deal with that ma chère." She put her hand on my arm and intense exhaustion swept over me; I closed my eyes.... Nothing. She wasn't there. I woke up with drool on my face. "She wasn't there." I said. "I can't dream walk."

Zoe was laughing. "I'm sorry its not funny I can't control myself." She giggled. I sighed and looked out the window. It was hopeless. I was never going to find her and I sure didn't want to stop existing. When I heard whispering all around me. Voices coming from every direction all lost in the jumble of human language.

They surrounded me like a sea. I looked around getting overwhelmed. the whispering roared quietly like a gentle breeze of voices. I smiled this happened before. He voice stood out among the others. Loud in clear. "You'll find me In the most northern part of Nova Scotia. I'm in a cave by the sea. You'll know when you're close. Good luck and find me today." Then the voices stopped as quickly as they came.

I bolted up. "Yes!" I shouted. "She spoke to me guys. We'll be able to find her today! She's in the most northern part of Nova Scotia." Anthony grinned. "Good I can google it and then we'll know." He whipped out his phone and started typing. "Cape Breton Island." He said. Zoe started crying. "I'm okay, just unstable. But Cape Breton here we come."

She typed it into the GPS and we started our journey. The trip was loonng and so boring. Eventually we got hungry but with no food and only enough money for gas, we didn't know what to do. Anthony told us to pull over at a gas station and he'd show us what to do. We pulled over and he told Zoe to get gas to serve as a distraction.

"Okay we're going to get food using the five finger discount." He grinned. Zoe gasped. "We're going to steal?" He nodded . "uh huh. You need to be the distraction chat with the clerk, ask him how far it is to Cape Breton and just ask some touristy questions. We'll handle the rest."

"When did you become such a criminal?" I asked. This was the opposite of the innocent natured Anthony we all knew. "My older brother was a rebellious teen when I was a kid. He used me to pull off some of his heists because I was small and quick. I still remember his old tricks." He said. "Anyway, follow my lead and we'll pull it off. Most gas stations and convenience stores don't have those sensor things anyway. This should be a piece of cake."

We high fived and opened the doors. Anthony went in first. I counted to sixty and then went in myself and sixty seconds later, Jason went in. Zoe came in afterwards and put on her best smile. We stayed in the back near the washroom but never spoke to each other.

Anthony shoved some granola bars in his pockets and some other packages. He walked past me but gave a glance and gesture telling me to take something. I could hear Zoe happily chatting with the cashier so I took advantage of the opportunity and stuffed packs of trail mix and beef jerky in my coat. I had to be careful because any wrong move and the guy just might notice the floating food.

I carefully weaved my way through the aisles while giving Jason the go ahead glance and gesture to steak some stuff. We had it down to a system. I slipped out the door quickly while someone was coming in and booted to the car in a full out sprint. My heart was racing but I never felt more alive.

"Wooo!" I exclamed when I got back in. Anthony grinned. "I know right? It's such a rush!" Zoe got into the drivers seat next and whipped out some packs of gum. "It was all I could get while talking to him." She said smirking. She put the car in drive and parked it in the lot. "Jason's going to be a little longer he got caught."

Jason came out a bit later with flaming red cheeks. "Don't even laugh." He said buckling up. "I grabbed too many things and as I was leaving they all spilled out of my pocket. I got an earful from that guy I'm lucky he didn't call the cops." I laughed. "Oh I wouldn't dare." I said and we tore off down the road putting our theft in the rearview mirror.
