ZOE'S P.O.V

When Caleb didn't answer back, I knew something was wrong. For the last hour and a half we backtracked as but we saw no trace of him. The first thing on my mind was what happened to him? One moment he was there and the next he wasn't.

I frowned and hung up. The guys looked at me expectantly. "Where is he?" Jason asked. Does he know what happened?" Anthony chimed in. I shook my head. "He's pretty close at that visitor's centre but something's wrong, he said he needed help and he sounded kind of in a hurry." Anthony bit his lip and my stomach did a little flip flop.

What was that? I never felt like that before. I ignored it and looked ahead until I saw the visitor's centre in the distance. "There it is!" Jason exclaimed driving faster. I glanced at Anthony in the backseat and I could feel guilt radiating off of him. His bright red hair was ruffled and his hazel eyes looked worried.

Flip flop, there went my stomach again. What on earth was this feeling? There was hardly an emotion I didn't feel, so what was this? I stretched out my hand and gave him a reassuring smile. He looked surprised but he took it. I sent a flood of positive emotions his way.

I pulled my hand away feeling the familiar coldness that went with going too far. I wasn't going to exhaust myself, not if I needed to help anyone else that day. We pulled into the parking lot and hardly had the car parked when we burst into the centre. There the a scene unfolded that surely someone would've noticed and stopped.

But all the people in the centre were going about their business as if a small creature wasn't lurking around while our friend tied his shoe. We rushed over and hugged him. He looked up in surprise but grinned and returned the hug. Happiness wafted off of him in waves. "Thank you so much for coming back." He said.

Jason shrugged and ruffled his hair. "It was no problem man. But what happened to you? You're filthy." Caleb scrunched his nose. "I honestly don't know, one minute I was listening to music and the next I was on the side of the road. In a mud puddle."

I patted him on the back. "Well we're glad we found you but it seems like we might have to hole up somewhere for the night. You're not going to meet the spirit looking like that." He grimaced and I felt some mixture of emotions gently touch my senses. "Okay, but first of all what the hell is that thing?!" Jason said pointing at the small lurking creature.

It looked kind of like a small lizard/ human hybrid. Either way it was creepy. Caleb did a double take then stumbled back. "Yeah what is that?!" He said staring at it wide eyed. Anthony however, didn't look freaked out. He looked kind of curious and cute. Cute? I never thought of Anthony as cute before. But the more I looked at him, the more I admired him.

I shook my head. No, it had to be a mistake Anthony would never like me back and he'd know I liked him if I started emitting. "I think I know what this is." He said. The thing growled and snarled at him and struggled but he seemed to be holding it place with his telekenesis. "Unlike you guys, I grew up in supernatural communities in both the America and New Brunswick."

He said pointing a finger in the air. "It was different back when I lived there. They weren't as run down or depressing. So every Friday night we had this thing at the library where we could go and listen to scary stories. It was mostly for the little kids but some of the stories were true or had truth in them."

"The story of the earth people was told there but there was this other story... It was about imps. They're supposed to look something like this. They're supposed to be poisonous." As if to prove his point the small creature hissed and bared long needle like teeth. Poison shot out of its mouth but it froze in midair.

"Aha nice try little dude." Athony said letting the poison drop. It the carpet sizzled and bubbled. Anthon turned to us. "I suggest we get out of here. Where there's one, there's more. Let's split before its friends-AGH!" Poison showered Anthony's face. "GaH!" he stumbled back and the telekinetic hold broke.

"Nice try little dude." It mocked in a gravelly voice and then it began to grow and change. It grew to be as tall as Jason and looked very human. He had close cropped hair but his pupils were slits like a cats. His hands were still very lizard like and then he charged.

I bolted out of the way as he lunged at Anthony who was still holding his face. I grabbed anthony and pushed him out the door. Caleb's green eyes were wide and a weird feeling was rolling off of him, it was somewere between panic and protectiveness. Then as if realizing there was a nasty imp creature chasing us, he bolted out the door grabbing Anthony and guiding him to the car. I stood next to Jason who seemed to sizing up the imp.

"Go look after Anthony, I've got this guy." Jason said flexing his hand where a glowing ball of energy grew. I smiled. "Caleb's with him. I  feel like he'll know what to do." Jason shrugged. "Alright then, how about we take this sucker?" I grinned. "I never thought you'd ask." And then we attacked.

Jason shot energy balls at him while I put out the strong feeling of confusion directed at the imp so it wouldn't affect Jason. The imp ran in circles and  shot poison randomly. Jason started chanting in latin under his breath. It was something powerful. His eyes began to glow and I could feel the magic in the air.

The imp began to shrink and turn more lizard like. I used this to my advantage and circled him spreading confusion like rain on him. Jason's voice rose and his glowing eyes brightened. A caged shimmered around the imp and then solidified. Jason stopped chanting and his eyes returned to their normal blue.

I stopped the confusion flowing from me. Jason looked pale but he grabbed my arm and started to run "Quick! The others are coming!" He pulled me out to the car where Caleb was dumping water on Anthony's face. I could feel pain and embarrassment coming from Anthony but I couldn't do anything to soothe him. Sometimes, people needed to work through their emotions on their own.

"How's your face?" I asked. He opened one eye through the stream of water. "It kind of burns but not as bad as I thought it would be." He was lying. I bit my lip, there had to be something we could do. "Oh no." caleb said finishing the bottle of water.

"That was the last one." He said looking hopeless. Anthony's face was red and blisters were breaking out. He opened his eyes. "It's okay, I think we washed most of it off anyway. I'll be fine. Let's just get going we need to get to Cape Breton."

He was lying again but I didn't say anything. We started driving and it was hard. Anthony was struggling but I could feel his embarrasment. Then all of a sudden, fear spiked out of the back. I looked back and gasped.

Anthony was touching his face but his eyes... they were completely white. "Oh my god.." He said "I'm blind! No!" Caleb looked shocked. "I can't see!" Anthony said. His emotions were like a rollercoaster. Tears stung my eyes. Caleb had this blank look on his face and I felt nothing from him.. That was impossible.

Then he put his hand on Anthony's arm and he started to glow. He lit up the back seat as if his entire body was made out of light. I had never seen something so beautiful. Anthony started to glow as well and it grew so bright it was blinding Jason slowed down the car.

When the glow faded Anthony's face was healed and his hazel eyes shone. Caleb looke shocked and he stared at his hands."Oh my god." Anthony said looking at us. "Caleb. You're a healer."
