Merry Christmas

Finally. Fourth Period was finally over. I mean, okay. Maybe I was kinda looking forward to lunchtime. You can't blame me, can you?

I don't know why, but I started getting nervous as I got closer to the cafeteria. Inside was so.. Different. It's not like what I expected it to be at all.

A few tables over, I saw that Ryan kid. There were a few more people there. Including Brendon. I held my breath, and began walking over there.

"Hey Ana," Brendon shouted & waved, making that whole side of the lunch room stare at me. Great, just what I need. More attention. I took a seat by Ry & this girl.

"Hey, I'm Jess," she held out her hand. I told her my name while shaking her hand.

"That's Ryro's girlfriend," another guy with a boyish face said, "I'm Spencer. Or just Spence."

"And I'm Jon." He was another guy sitting with us, and he had a beard. A beard in high school. And it wasn't one of those little scrufs of hair. It was a full on beard.

Well, hey. I'm actually starting to meet some awesome people. So far, I know that Jon is obsessed with cats. Spence is Ryan's best friend. Jess is this Canadian girl who loves the same music as I do. And Brendon- Well. You all know plenty about him.

"So, Is anyone going to the Christmas party this weekend?"

"Christmas Party?" Okay, so maybe I was a little disappointed I wasn't invited, even if I've only known these people for 15 minutes.

"Yeah, at Ryan's house on Friday night!" Brendon was just sitting there, explaining this party. Something about him, was just- I mean, I hate him and all, but he's just.. Nevermind. It's too hard to explain.

"So, Ana wanna come," Ryan turned and asked me, "it'll be fun. And there won't be many people."

"Uh, sure! I'd love to!" Invited to a party? On my first day! I'm on a roll here.

"This week actually didn't turn out so bad. It could've been worse," was always my reply when my Uncle asked how my day was. And this time, I was actually telling the truth.

This week was pretty amazing. I made lots of new friends (And by "lots", I mean 5). I'm invited to a party. I got a job at Coffee Beans. And I got a new Nirvana shirt! How can this not get better!

As soon as I stepped foot in the house, I ran upstairs. I had to find out what I was going to wear for the party tonight. .. Wait. I'm actually worrying about what I'm going to wear. That's pretty odd.

A couple hours and I was ready. And it was only 6:00, but the party started at 9:00. So three hours to spare and-

"Ana, your friend is here," I heard my Uncle shout from downstairs. My friend? I didn't invite anyone over..

"Just send them up!" I heard the door close, and a guy's voice talking to my uncle. Then he began walking upstairs to my room. Oh, I know who it is.

"Hey there," Brendon shouted as he came in,"You ready to go?"

"The party doesn't start until 9. And what are you doin in my house?"

"Can't a friend take another friend out for a drink or something?" I'm not gonna lie, I was tempted to. He started doing this really creepy eye-wiggling thing.

"Uh, something wrong with your face?" I got up and got my bag. I reached for the keys, but he pushed my hand away & held out his keys.

"I'll drive." Oh well. It just saves me gas money.

"Wait, hold on. You're saying you've never been to the Space Arcade," I laughed at him, finishing up my peppermint hot chocolate.

"Nope. Never," he said through sips of coffee,"and I don't plan on ever going there."

This man has never been to the most amazing arcade I'm the history of arcades and gaming. I got up right then and led him to his car. We HAVE to go there now.

Well, all I can say is that the drive over to Ryan's house was kind of awkward. Not "kind of". It was really awkward.

And it wasn't because of the arcade. We were both playing this one Deal or No Deal arcade game. And we both reached over to press the 'No Deal' button. At the same time.

See what I'm saying?

But that wasn't the awkward part. It was just, when that happened, none of us pulled away. And it kinda stayed like that for awhile. A long time. THEN it began to get awkward.

We finally got to Ryan's house, and thank God for that. I got my bag, got out, and closed the door. We walked up to the front door together, and he opened the door for me. It's cute, how much of a gentleman he is.

Wait. What did I just say?

"MERRY CHRISTMAS," everyone inside shouted & cheered. There was only Jon, Ry, Jess, Spence, Bren, & me inside the house. Ryan's dad was gone, so we got the whole house to ourselves!

Not that we were going to do anything illegal.. Or bad.

Once we finished out pizza we ordered from Domino's, Jon & Spence decided to leave. And it was only 3:00 am!

I can't blame them though. I mean, if you were dared to run out on the snow with only your boxers on, you'd wanna go home too.

So then, it was just me, Jess, Ry, & Brendon. I grabbed the remote and turned on ABC Family. Nothing like some classic holiday movies on Christmas. Oh great, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. My favorite.

Not even passed the beginning credits, did Ry & Jess fall asleep. Jess was laying down on Ry's lap. And it was just adorable! .. I should probably take a picture.

The first set of commercials came on, and I felt really hungry, even though I just ate a bunch of pizza. I walked over to the kitchen, and not even a few steps behind me, was Mr. Brendon Urie.

"Hey, uh, sorry for that arcade thing. I didn't mean to, y'know," he said scratching his head. I mean, okay dude. It wasn't that big of a deal.

"It's alright," I said nonchalantly, getting some cold cookies out of the fridge, "Want a cookie?"

"Uhm, actually, I want some leftovers. Ry's dad is an amazing cook." He walked over next to me by the fridge. He got his food and closed the fridge door, a little too hard.

The fridge made something jingle above our head. It was a mistletoe, with two golden bells on it. And then, Brendon just sort of looked at me. And it wasn't just that normal 'Oh haha how funny' look. It was more like a 'People kiss under mistletoes' look. Get what I'm saying?

The funny thing is, I didn't move away. Or look down. Or call him anything. I just stood there, which was probably a mistake.

He closed his eyes & leaned in. He kissed me. Right there. Under that mistletoe. On Christmas Day. With his soft, lips. Then he pulled away, and mumbled a 'sorry'.

Now, before you get your conclusions to and end- No I don't like this guy. I never liked him. I never will like him. I'll never like the guy who treated me horribly during my pre-highschool years. I'll never like Brendon Urie.

But I do just happen to love him.

Dear God, kill me now.
