Sungchan:
After our second period, Miyoung stayed in her seat this time. Unfortunately, my friends came up to me and pretended to start a conversation with me when in reality they wanted to brag about whatever in front of Miyoung. I could tell that she was uncomfortable, so I got up and told them to follow me to the hallway. Miyoung looked up and slightly smiled, I don't know if it was at me, but I was glad to see her smiling since I haven't seen her smile once since we first met. I told them that Miyoung has a cold right now and if they stay near her they could catch a cold too and they instantly ran away because they all hate getting sick. I laughed at how gullible they are. Come on, it's common sense... if Miyoung was actually sick she wouldn't even be at school. I walked back inside the classroom to see Miyoung eating the jellies I gave her while looking at her notes for our next class. I didn't want to bother her, so I just smiled and sat back down.
"Sungchan." Kyungmi taps my shoulder and I turn around and look at her.
"Can you ask Miyoung something for me?" She asks and I shake my head.
"If you want something from her, ask her yourself." I chuckle and turn back around, taking out my notes for the next class. I turned to look at her and she was smiling.
A few more minutes pass and our next class was about to begin so everybody was rushing to their seats. We have our literature class next and it's usually when a lot of our classmates get a lot of sleep since we don't do much. I still pay attention though, because sometimes our teacher will give us a pop quiz and I want to be prepared for that. However, to my surprise, almost the whole class was asleep except for Miyoung and I and like two other classmates. We were reading a new book and analyzing the text at the same time, but nobody was paying attention. Miyoung was also looking around the classroom and we looked at each other and locked eyes. I smiled slightly and she covered her face with her book, paying attention to our teacher's voice. I quietly laughed and looked at the book again, but in the corner of my eye, I still see Miyoung.
When the class was finally over, we had another ten minute break. I had nothing to do and my friends weren't going to come to my classroom again, so I just write some lyrics. Miyoung was already up and leaving, probably trying to avoid people again. I'm pretty sure Kyungmi and Minji followed her, which made me anxious because she might be feeling overwhelmed again. I put my lyrics notebook away and ran out of the classroom quickly. I was looking left and right to see if I could find Miyoung, Kyungmi, or Minji. Hopefully they're not in the bathroom because I can't do anything about it if they are. I was running around for a little more and then I saw Miyoung walking away from the bathroom with Kyungmi and Minji following her.
"Miyoung!" I call to her, she turns around, making eye contact with me and runs into the classroom. Kyungmi and Minji turn towards me and I run past them to catch up to Miyoung.
She's already sitting in her desk with her head down and I sigh, catching my breath real quick before sitting down. She seems like she's in a bad mood so I decide to give her some space for a while. But I'm really worried about her. What did they do in the bathroom? I couldn't see the look on Miyoung's face, but by the way she was running away from them with her head down made me think it was something bad. Kyungmi and Minji returned to the classroom literally one minute before the bell for our fourth period rang. When the bell rang, Miyoung sat up, go her notebook and pens out and faced forward. I tried my best to avoid turning my head in her direction but I couldn't help it. I wanted to check if she was crying or if she was hurt anywhere or not. I eventually gave up and listened to the lesson.
After our fourth period, it was now our lunch break. We have a long lunch break so I ate quickly with my friends and then I went to go find Miyoung to check on her again. I don't want to ask around because I don't think she has a specific group of friends and if anything people only know her for her looks. I ran around the whole school basically. I went to quiet spots in the school because Miyoung looks like the type of person who would want to be somewhere quiet during lunch time. However, there aren't that many quiet spots in our school. So I just went to places I think she would be. I checked the library, courtyard, and even the back of the school, but she was nowhere to be found. Either I'm not looking hard enough or she's actually hard to find. I wasn't ready to give up though. I even went to check the classrooms.
And there she was. In our home room classroom, with her head on her desk. I let out a sigh of relief and sat next to her. She immediately woke up and looked at me, taking out her headphones and grabbing all of her stuff. I stood up as well and looked into her eyes. She stopped packing up her stuff and sat down again, I sat down with her.
"Are you following me?" She asks, looking forward.
"I just want to know if you're okay." I say, turning my head towards her and she looks away. She puts her head back on the desk and says nothing.
"Did you eat?" I ask, she doesn't respond. I get up and leave the classroom to go get something from the school's store. This is where people can get quick snacks instead of full meals at the cafeteria. I got Miyoung a chocolate bread and another peach tea. Maybe she drank the first one already.
I ran back to the classroom and thankfully she was still there. I sit down next to her and put the bread and tea on her desk. She looks up at me and I smile.
"You should eat. You shouldn't skip your meals." I tell her as she takes the bread and tea and puts it in her bag, putting her head back on her desk. She's something alright.
