Summary; Donnie was still in the strange world, he is starting to lose his sanity. But he has a idea in mind to get out of the world. But what happens if he loses his mind while building it?

- Third persons pov -
Donnie was glancing at his battleshell, he shivered even more as the air got even colder. He felt goosebumps starting to appear along his arms. He knew he needed to build the mini sized or medium sized portal device, but that meant taking off his battleshell and tearing it apart. But what other choice he had? He bit his lower lip and took off his battleshell, he let out a startled shriek as he felt cold rushing air hit his softshell. 'DEAR GOD ITS COLD!' He thought, looking at his battleshell that laid on the ground. The metallic spider arms had retracted into the battleshell once more, he watched the second large leaf get blown away. 'Well there goes my second blanket.' He thought, before grabbing his battleshell and started to tear it into parts.

The genius felt everything was going slow, he hasn't really slept for 3 days. No coffee. He only drank water from the rain, he could feel his heart racing. His gray gaze swept across at the empty world, it was still raining. He was still trembling badly from the cold, he noticed a jet black demon standing in front of him. He shook his head, looking at the direction. The demon wasn't there. 'I must be hallucinating now. Shit.' He grumbled, looking at his now torn apart battleshell. 'Just focus on building your new invention Donnie.' He reminded himself, trying to focus on the invention that he started building. Though it was difficult due to himself shaking so much and the numbness from the cold that was settling into his hands, he grunted in annoyance. Before seeing Leo standing there, he shook his head again. 'Hallucinations. Donnie. There just Hallucinations. Hallucinations are NOT real.' He kept reminding himself,

The softshell kept on trying to focus on his invention, but each of his sanity was slowly being stripped away from him. He kept on hallucinating things, such as his brothers, his fathers and his only 2 friends. His body kept trembling even more, tears started swelling up in the corners of his eyes. His breathing started becoming heavy and quick. He couldn't focus but he had managed to finally build the invention, until he fell unconscious.

- The next day -
Donnie slowly woke up, feeling the rain had gotten lighter a bit, he slowly sat up. He was completely soaked and so cold, he noticed that his invention was finished. He looks at his wrist device, seeing the time. It was 11:30 AM. He groaned in irritation and went over towards his invention, seeing the 'on' button. He couldn't think straight though, another Hallucination of his brothers appeared.

"Get out of our sight!" Was from Raph,

"We don't need you!" Was from Mikey,

"Leave us alone screwup!" Was from Leo,

The softshell had tried so hard to tell himself these weren't real, but the words had matched up with his thoughts from yesterday. Tears started rolling down his face, feeling his sanity being slowly stripped away from him. He didn't know what to do, he had built his invention. But did he really want to leave? He looked around, before sobbing to himself. He didn't want to be alone in here. Alone with his thoughts. His body was trembling more, he rested his head on his invention. Sobbing still.

"You really are a failure!" Hallucination!Raph hissed in his nonexistent ears, even if he is deaf. He can hear his own hallucinations since they were apart of his brain and exhaustion(A/N; Correct me if I'm wrong!), "G - Go. . .a - away!" He cried out. He was still unfortunately sobbing to himself,

"You can't do anything right!" Hallucination!Mikey growled, Donnie whined out loud. He wanted to leave this place, this world, his mind. His sanity was stripping away a bit quicker, his tears were now coming out in large amounts. The words of from his hallucination brothers matched up with his depressing thoughts, it was all true. Wasn't it? He kept sobbing, pulling his knees to his chest. Moving his hands on his head. Burying his face into his knees.

"Your nothing to us!" Hallucination!Leo snarled, the genius kept on sobbing. His sanity was stripping away from him quicker than usual, his heart was racing faster. His tail was now laying on the surface, he hated being here. He didn't want to be alone. 'Is this how Raph feels?' He wondered, sobbing still. He lifted his head, tearfully glancing at the invention. If he had to leave, he needed to leave.

The softshell felt his sanity draining away from his body, it was being replaced by his insanity. He started quietly chuckling to himself, still sobbing. He was laughing quietly as his large amounted tears were rolling down his face, he slowly crawled over towards the invention he made. He shakily pressed the 'on' button, he slowly stood up. Sobbing and laughing quietly to himself. He shakily picks the invention up as a portal opened, he immediately ran through with the invention. He heard a voice from somewhere,

"What the hell was that?" It was Leo, Donnie just collapsed to the ground of the lair. Sobbing to himself. Laughing as well. His laughter soon drained away, now just sobbing loudly. "Who is — DONNIE?!" Donnie heard Raph's panic voice, the snapping turtle rushed over to the sobbing softshell and hugged him immediately. "Wait, Donnie?" Mikey gasped, running over. Hugging the crying genius. Leo came into the room, Donnie noticed him and rushed over to him. Hugging him.

Donnie didn't care if he looked insane or vulnerable in front of his brothers, he just wanted their comfort. Their affection at this point. He had been alone for so long. "He's so cold. . ." Leo sounded surprised as he hugged the sobbing male back. Mikey rushed off to get a heating blanket, then immediately came back and placed it on Donnie. Raph gently made Donnie sit down, the genius wrapped the heating blanket around himself firmly, sobbing much more quieter to himself. Leo sat next to him on the left side, Raph sat down on the right side and Mikey also on the left side. "Hey Don. . .Relax, we're here." Leo reassured him, but they didn't know what the genius had went through. "Y - Yo. . .ur. . .N - No. . .t. . .R - Real!" Donnie choked out,

"We are real D! I can cook you fresh meals for ya!" Mikey tried to reassure him, he then rushed off into the kitchen to make some fresh warm meals for Donnie. "Mikey's Right, Don. We are completely real, okay?" Raph whispered, gently rubbing Donnie's back. Sobbing still. "Y. . .Y-. . .you. . .h - ha. . .te. . .M -. . .Me!" Donnie tried to growl but only broke down into more tears, "What? No! We don't hate you!" Leo growled, resting a hand on Donnie's shoulder. The genius only looked at him with slightly crazed eyes, Leo noticed this and sighed. "What happened to you?. . ." He asked softly, Donnie didn't reply, and hugged Leo again. Sobbing quietly. Raph hugged both of them, Mikey came back and joined the hug. But they all wondered;

What happened to the genius?. . .
