The first Quidditch game of the season. Happening a bit late if you ask me but all the new security measures was probably why. I was up early with Hermione, dressed in all the Gryffindor colours, ready to watch my house and Slytherin battle it out. I had a feeling Gryffindor would win, they had stronger players than Slytherin. Ginny alone could take everyone out on both teams.

Hermione and I finished our breakfast before Harry did. She didn't know what happened between us and Harry and I were staying away from that topic as much as possible. We silently agreed to be civil but most of time with that stupid look on his face, I knew he wished he kissed me that night.

Sometimes I wished it too.

Ron sat down and he looked a little more green than normal. He looked down at the toast and eggs on his plate and I thought he would be sick all over them. Half of Slytherin was calling him a loser but most people ignored them. Ron didn't seem like he was though.

"So how was it then?" Ron asked gruffly.

Hermione slid a paper to me across the table but I didn't take long looking through it. My dad's case was in there and this was not how I wanted to find out anything about him. I wanted to hear it first hand. From mum.

Hermione glanced between Harry and me but I shrugged. "How was what?"

"Your dinner party." Ron replied mockingly.

"Pretty boring actually." Hermione was a bit taken aback by the attitude as she looked back down at her paper. "Though I think these two enjoyed dessert."

Harry and I caught each other's eyes and I felt the blood creeping up my neck. I frowned and leaned forward.

"Do you smell toothpaste, Hermione?" I squinted at her.

She looked at me sharply and kicked me hard under the table. I gasped and turned away, hiding the pain the best I could.

I deserved that.

"Slughorn's having Christmas Do, you know." Hermione continued quickly. "And we're meant to bring someone."

"I expect you'll be bringing McLaggen. He's in the Slug Club isn't he?" Ron whined.

"Actually I was going to ask you."

I nibbled on an extra piece of toast and looked at Ron. He looked down and said, "Really."

I rolled my eyes and looked up as Lavender marched right up to Ron. If this were a comic, I would have grabbed her by the neck and thrown her all the way to Dumstrang for this.

She tapped his shoulder. "Good luck today, Ron." She said in that terrible voice of hers. "I know you'll be brilliant."

She hurried off and Hermione and I watched her go before turning to each other. Hermione looked pissed with a mix of hurt but I knew I was mostly just pissed.

"I'm resigning." Ron said quickly. "After today's match, McLaggen can have my spot."

"Have it your way." Harry pushed Ron's goblet towards him. "Juice?"

"Sure." Ron muttered.

"Hello everyone."

I jumped slightly. Luna had a way of sneaking up on you and I had forgotten that. I really should have talked to her more this year.

"Hey Luna." I offered her some toast but she shook her giant lion head.

I wonder who she was rooting for...

"You look dreadful Ron..." She said. He wasn't very pleased with that. "Is that why you put something in his cup?"

All of us turned to her and froze.
