3 - The dim light from the hallway

In the distance you can hear an infuriating melody.

Shut up!

The melody continues. Little by little you begin to realize what is happening, "it's just someone calling or is it a text?"

Shut up.

Someone calling... Someone calling?!

You jumped out of bed. Erratically you tried to grab the phone. It fell to the ground. Shit. The screen said it was the fifth missed call. You've forgot setting the alarm the day before. On your second day. Great.

You were so tired that you slept like you haven't in a long time.

Yesterday was a stressful day and now you have to run.

Miraculously your hair down looked cute. You can enjoy your decent hair until you have to tie it up when running tests. Laboratory biosecurity. Looking hot in the lab is not your thing.

Running down the hallways. Again. This time you didn't bump into anyone.

You came to Finn's office out of breath.

"Sorry, sorry, sorry... a little late, am I fired yet?" You joked out of nerves.

You froze at the door and sank into the deepest terror. Finn was sitting at his desk studying something at his laptop. Poe sitting across from him with some folders and handing them to ... Kylo Ren.

Ren was standing with one hand in his pocket and the other taking the papers he was being given. He shot you a look that could cut the air in the room like a sharp dagger.

Finn looked nervously at Ren and then at you. "Hello. It is not ideal. But no, you are not fired. Something happened to you?"

Kylo Ren never took his eyes off you. He looked furious.

"The b-bus" You stuttered. "I missed the bus".

The bus?

"Make sure it doesn't happen again." Finn looked at you pitiful. "Please go to your lab. Rey needs help."

Ren cleared his throat.

"May I say something, doctor?" Finn nodded politely. "Maybe the engineer had an issue beyond her control." He began to read.

"Yes. Thank you so much, sir. It'll not happen again."

"... or maybe not. Personally, I think the engineer needs a conversation to help her understand how things are in this place." He concluded ignoring what you said before.

He raised his glacial gaze.

"Now?" you muttered.

"What makes you think that I have time for you now?"

Your jaw dropped.

"You can go. You have work to do." Kylo Ren concluded.

You nodded and left the room.

Well, that gone just terrific.

Why you have to freeze every time Kylo Ren talks to you. And why the fuck he is bullying you constantly.

Poe joined you and Rey putting his lab coat on. "It seems Ren doesn't like you, doesn't he?".

"It seems like he fucking hates me." You said bitterly. "I don't know why. I didn't do anything wrong." Other than bumping into him in your first day and being late on your second.
