7 - The most beautiful laugh

Kylo Ren occupied your thoughts while you were awake and occupied your dreams at times when your eyes surrendered to sleep.

"Mando?" You moved him trying to wake him up. "We have to leave for work."

He rolled over.

"Come on, get up..."

"Hmm I'm coming."

You went to the kitchen and started making coffee. You listened to Mando getting up amidst loud yawns.

"Morning." He said when he entered the kitchen, stretching out dressed only in his briefs. He looked hot as hell. Unfair.

"What is wrong with me? Why can't I enjoy this?" You thought to yourself.

You anticipated him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Coffee?"

"I could drink some mates."

Those were the things you liked about him. The familiarity. "Same. But we don't have much time, and I don't like to drink mates in a hurry."

After a quick breakfast, you showered - separately - and went to work in his car.

You were determined to cool things off between the two of you... at least until you could figure out what you were going to do with all this mess.

You grabbed your cell phone for the first time since last night.

It was obvious that he was going to text you and everything was going to be a thousand times more difficult.

He was right.

A deep sigh left you.

"Boo, Hux wants your report." Said Finn.

"What report?"

"I guess about the tests you are running in your new samples. I didn't know he asked you for one."

"He didn't. What should I do?"

"I'm a little busy right now, but go with Hux, see what he really wants. Tell him we didn't know about it. And if he has any problems, I'll talk to him."

"I swear Hux didn't ask for anything. I can sort out the results and hand them over in a moment. I don't have many promising results, to be honest. I'm kinda stuck." You were really nervous. You didn't want to look bad in front of Hux.

"Chill out. It's insignificant."

You never were in Hux's office, you never even talked to him. Whenever you saw him, he was angry -or so it seemed- and you simply slipped out of his sight.

"Come in."

"You wanted to see me, sir?"

"Ah! Engineer, yes. Your report." He extended his hand without taking his eyes off some papers.

"Excuse me, sir, but I don't know what report do you need."

For the first time Hux looked at you.

"What do you mean you don't know?"

"No, sir. I'm sorry. If you tell me what report you are talking about, maybe I can help you."
