"you would tell me if there was something wrong, wouldn't you?" dakota asked of sawyer, eyes closed in a relax manner as she rested against his chest.

"of course," he answered slowly, stroking her arm, "why'd you ask?". she shook her head gently, smiling with content, "no reason".

"would you tell me if there was something wrong?" sawyer now asked dakota. she moved herself so she was on her front, arms still on his chest, hand propping up her chin as she gazed at the dark haired boy.

"of course. i tell you everything," dakota made small circles on him with her finger.

and of course that was a lie. dakota knew sawyer had no idea about buffy being the slayer or the adventures they got up to or the demons they fought. she had done a pretty good job keeping him away from all that, despite the few close calls. she didn't enjoy lying to sawyer and every time she'd lie about where she was or why she was called away so suddenly, it ate her up a little more.

dakota locked eyes with sawyer, his dark orbs searching inside her, searching her soul. that once content feeling she was filled up with began to ease away. something about his look unsettled her and made her core tremble. "is that so?" he questioned menacingly.

dakota snapped out of the trance he seemed to cast over her, "is what so?".

"you tell me everything," sawyer stated, "is that so?".

dakota chuckled lightly, "yes, it is so".

another lie that took a bite out of her. dakota placed her hands flat on his chest, inhaling sharply, "how do you feel about the bronze tonight? just me and you?".

sawyer smirked, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, "i feel very strongly".

"good because i was gonna drag you along anyway," dakota grinned, kissing him tenderly before getting off the bed, pulling out some black cargo pants and a white, cropped tank top. sawyer watched with wandering eyes as dakota changed in front of him, acting oblivious to the boys gaze.

his eyes lingered on the couple from across the room. he'd been watching them ever since they entered hand in hand. he could sense her presence the second her foot stepped through the door. he could smell her sweet blood that he, for some absurd reason, craved.

he felt a tinge of jealousy at the view. sawyer had his arm around her, whispering sweet nothings into her ear that she giggled at. occasionally she'd lean up in return, whispering something of her own, flashing sawyer her famous doe eyes. he knew there was something off about the man who sat in the booth, he just couldn't figure out what.

"i'm going to get another drink," dakota informed sawyer.

"i'll get it, princess," sawyer attempted to stop her but the brunette insisted she could do it herself, slipping out the booth and disappearing into the crowd.
