The school halls were crowded

The school halls were crowded. There were lots of people bumping into each other, cussing, yelling, talking, kissing, anything you'd see in a typical high school hallway.

It's my second day as a sophomore in high school. Here it's very spacious, well besides the hallways. The part of Missouri I moved to is very country, lots of red necks with a southern accent, cows, horses, and farms. It's a big change for me since I just moved here from California.

I arrived at my second class of the day sitting in the very back of the room. My first day was typical for a new student in the school, just finding where my classes are, introducing myself, and just figuring things out. English was boring for me but I try to pay attention since it's important.

"Everyone get out your note book and do the warm up" my teacher said from across the room sitting at her desk at the front next to the white board. As told, everyone got out their note books. Okay new school year new me. I told myself, I want to be the best version of myself this year, getting good grades, paying attention, and just showing up on time.

When we finished the warm up we put our things away and began to read a book assigned to the class called 'The Outsiders'. "Umm you" the teacher pointed at me. "Remind me of your name again?" "Shay" I said nicely to my grumpy teacher. "Read the next three paragraphs". I began to read "as I stepped out into the bright sunlight of the darkness of the movie house, there were only two things on my mind..."

The door shoots open dramatically, a teenage boy with reddish brown hair, and honey brown eyes, stands in the door frame out of breath "where were you??" The teacher asks in a stern voice. "I- uhh. sorry" is all the boy said. He then looks at a guy sitting in the front seat. The red head waves, shrugs his shoulders, and laughs at him, like he was up to no good. "Take a seat next to Shay" Mrs. Smith said as she pointed to me still looking at the trouble maker in the door frame. He looks at me, laughs then slowly walks to the seat next to me. Oh so he's 'Mr cool guy' great he's one of those. He acts like one of those freshmen who try so hard to fit in but he definitely doesn't look like one.

He loudly sits down next to me filling the silence in the room. "Okay Shay continue to read" we all look down at our books, well except the red head, and I begin to read, "Paul Newman and a ride home. I was wishing I looked like Paul Newman- he looks tough and I don't- but I guess my looks aren't so bad. I have light-brown hair almost-red hair and-" "mrs!" The boy next to be said in a loud tone raising and flapping his hand around like a third grader. Mrs Smith lost her cool and shouted angrily "What!" She realized what she did and calmly asks, "what?". The class giggled.

"May I use the restroom?" He asked with a shiny bright smile. It's like he enjoys pissing our teacher off. "No you may not. And by the way this is your second tarty this  week." Mrs Smith said in a surprisingly nice tone "if you get another one you'll have to go to detention". With everyone's eyes on the red head I notice his very large forced smile fades.

He raised his hand again with that fake smile saying, "but it's an emergency Mrs,". he pouts his face, "you wouldn't want me pissing all over your class now would you?" He ends the sentence while blinking his eyes three times really fast like a begging little girl. The whole class laughs. I even giggle a little when the teacher yelled "language!". "Go to the office!" She stomped.

The boy walks over to the teachers desk and she begins writing a pass. "What's your name?" She asked. "Charles" the class was dead silent so we all could hear everything. She rips the sticky note off the pad and hands it to him "now go, I'm sick of you" she said angrily which caused the boy to have a grin appear on his face.

"Bye bye Charles" a girl next to me said in a flirty way while twirling her hair with one hand and the other waving to him. He looks at her and winks then walks out the door.

Boy, what a way to start the day.
