"What were you doing up so late?" My dad asked me interrupting my beauty sleep. I rub my eyes trying to get used to the bright sunlight shining through my window. I hummed in question. "Why were you up so late?" I sit up in my bed squinting at my dad. "I was smelly". He laughed and leaned on the door frame. "Your mother and I were trying to sleep you know." He said in a matter of fact tone. I start to worry since all of what happened last night just started to hit me. "I-i" is all that left my mouth. He laughs and starts to walk out of my room saying "breakfast is ready kiddo". A huge sigh of relief leaves my lungs.
After breakfast I get an email on my phone saying "hey babe I'm grounded for the next week because my parents found out that I snuck out. I didn't say you were with me so you wouldn't get in trouble but I can't answer my phone. I love you." I reply with an "I love you too" and turn my phone off. Man last night was tough. I think back on all the things that happened last night. My parents even noticed me being unusually quiet at breakfast.
I can't be in this room anymore. My thoughts are getting to me like what if that happens again or what if Amelia wants to fight me? I leave my room and walk out of the house telling my parents I'm going to go visit Charles horses since they are very therapeutic to me.
I arrived at the horse barn and give Snowy a big hug on the neck. He hugs be back with his head. I look over to the left and see a mounting block so I walk to get it, and sit on it next to Snowy. "You're such a beautiful horse you know that?" I said to him while scratching his chin softly. Snowy lightly pushed me with his big head almost making me fall off my seat. "Hey what was that for?" I laughed but he does it again. This time I fall off the seat landing in the dirt.
"Oh come on Snowy." I said frustrated but in a playful way getting back up on the mounting block. He then nickers. "Ohhhhhh" I said getting the hint. "You want a treat don't you?" I get up and walk toward the bag of treats and bring a handful back for him. I then see Whiskey trot up to me and Snowy so I give him some treats too.
"Hey Shay what are you doing out here?" I heard Charles voice. I sit up and walk around the corner to see Charles standing on his deck. "Oh hi! I was bored and missed your horses" I laughed. Charles looks towards the front door of his house and then jogs towards me and the horses.
"aren't you going to get in trouble?" I asked him as soon as he got here. "No I'm on my own property so I won't get in trouble" he said looking into my eyes. "That was so awkward last night" he said looking at Whiskey. "Yeah" I laughed. "And kinda gross too" he chuckled. "I know" I said returning a laugh. "Never again" I said now looking at him. "Yeah" he said walking into a hug. "I missed you" he said making my shoulder vibrate from talking. "We saw each other not to long ago silly" I said rubbing his back. "I know but still" he said with his face still buried in my shoulder.
We pull apart and give each other a peck on the lips. He giggled and looked down as if that was our first kiss. "What" I said leaning down to get in his vision. "Nothing I just love you so much" after he said that I bring him in for a big hug again.
