Pierson
"Hey mom?" Georgie walks in, scaring the shit out of me. "Sorry!" she laughs. "I was just wondering if we could go out for lunch..."
"Oh yeah, of course! Or do you wanna wait until River gets home?" I ask.
"Just a girls day would be nice." she replies with a smile.
"Okay, yeah." I return the smile.

"I love our little family." River holds me.
"Me too. It's perfect... despite the fact we can't have kids apparently. We have Georgie." I smile.
We weren't told by doctors we can't have kids, but I mean I haven't been on birth control for months.
"Hey guys!" Georgie walks in. "Oh no— arm I interrupting something?"
"No." River laughs, letting go of me. "Where were ya?"
She smiles. "Okay so, no big deal, but I made a friend! Cindy!"
River and I gasp, causing she her playfully roll her eyes. "That is a huge deal! That's so good! Cant wait to meet her one day!" I chirp.
"She's great! She actually wanted to sleepover here... is that okay?" Georgie looks back and forth at River and I.
I turn to River and he shrugs. "I'm game."
"Me too." I smile.
"Yay! Thank you thank you!!" she hugs us both before running upstairs to her room.
"I'm so proud of her. She's really come out of her shell these past few months." I look up at River.
He nods in agreement. "Yeah, shes really a good kid. She's come a loooong way." he pauses. "Hey... I was wondering if you wanted to watch the sunset tonight. Just me and you. There's that great spot at the sunflower field."
"Sure! What about Georgie?" I question.
"She's gonna wanna be with her friend." he laughs.
"True." I nudge at him.

"Dad!" Georgie runs down with Cindy.
"Yeah?" I look back up at her before I walk out.
"Good luck." she smiles.
I return the smile and walk out, meeting up with Pierson. "We better hurry." I jump in the truck.
She gets in after me. "Why are you in such a rush?" she laughs.
"I just.. one minute it's bright and once you blink it's pitch black."
"I guess that's about right."
"Mhm." I take the right turn and park. "Hurry!"
I jump out and Pierson follows me. "I see what you mean!" she points to the sky.
"Exactly!" I laugh.
She stands next to me and I wrap my arm around her. "I'm surprised Georgie didn't even ask to tag along."
"She actually suggested this for us." I rub her arm.
"Really?" she pushes her eyebrows together.
"Yeah. She noticed we haven't really had much time to ourselves since I got more hours, so she kinda planned this for us. Apparently it's supposed to be the prettiest sunset." I laugh.
"It's looking pretty already!" Pierson points to the sky filled of colors.
I smile. "It does, doesn't it?"
"I love it!!" she quickly takes a picture of it. "It's so beautiful. Georgie was right."
"Remember the first time Georgie called us mom and dad?" I bring up.
She looks down, smiling. "I do. We were going crazy all night! We were so happy."
"I love that girl so much. It's a shame she went through that hard of a life." I sigh.
"We have her now." she holds my arm. "She loves us and we love her. We got so lucky to have her in our life."
"I agree with that one." I chuckle and she kisses my cheek. I notice it begin to get darker so I take a deep breath in nervousness. "Hey..."
"Hey." she smiles.
"I can't tell you how much I'm grateful that something told me to go into work that day. I wasn't feeling good so I about didn't go. If I didn't, then I wouldn't have reconnected with my childhood best friend." I take her hands.
"I don't know what I would've done without you." she rubs the back of my hands with her thumbs.
"Me neither. I wasn't the most caring person in the world. Until I met you. Pier, you bought out a side of me clearly nobody has seen before. Not even me. You've changed my entire life and perspective of everything. I never would've got this far if it wasn't for you. We wouldn't have Georgie and this beautiful life." I look her in the eyes.
"I love you... I feel the same way. You've helped me through so much and I'm so thankful." she looks at me in awe. "Thank you."
"No, thank you. For everything. You're the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on and I'm so incredibly proud of all you've accomplished and gotten through these past few years." I pause. "Pier, I love you so fucking much and I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else—"
"Riv..." she puts her hands over her mouth.
I get down on one knee, causing her to squeal in excitement. "Pier, will you marry me?"
"Yes!!" she jumps up and down and cries, hugging me.
I laugh and stand up, picking her up.
We share a passionate kiss before I slide the ring on her finger. "I love you! So much!" she kisses me all over.
"I love you too!" I laugh.
"I also have a surprise for you..." she pulls a little paper from the back of her pocket.
"What is that?" I push my eyebrows together in confusion.
She hands it to me. "We're pregnant!"
My eyes widen when I look at the ultrasound. "Is that another baby or—"
"We're having triplets!"
My jaw drops. "Oh my god!" I hug her instantly. "Holy fuck!"
"Right! I was scared at first... then realized, we can do it!" she wraps her arms around me.
"I love you so much! Three little ones!" I say in shock. "That's crazy! But I'm hella excited!!"
"Me too!!" she smiles.
Holy cow!
