"I really like him too mom! I wanna be with him! But I'm so scared... I'm so scared to get hurt again. This is what Addax did... he was great in the start but obviously became a piece of shit. I know that's not River, but I still have those trust issues and I'm scared. Really scared." I cry.
"Baby," she hugs me "I know it's scary, but believe me, you can trust River and I know, I know, it'll take time, but you can do it! He's patient, he'll wait for you. Trust me." she pulls back. "River isn't Addax. River is just... River." she laughs.
"I know, but it's scary."
"I know baby, trust me, River is perfect for you. But take your time." she rubs my back.

"Where's River?" I walk in, looking around.
"He's going on a trip with his workers. But I haven't heard from him." Cash bites into his bagel.
I push my eyebrows together. "He never told me..." I frown and sit down. "I really messed up."
"What do you mean?" Sophia asks.
"Because! I have these feelings for him and I was scared and told him no I'm not ready." I run my fingers through my hair.
"You gotta tell him." Sophia sits down next to me.
I turn to her. "He won't answer my calls or texts."
"Maybe-"
The door opens and River walks on. "Surprise, butch! I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me!" he puts his arm out and shuts the door behind him.

"Aye!" Cash puts his arms up.
"River-"
"The banquet is in three more days." River says. "Which means those bomb ass cupcakes will be there."
"Banquet?" I push my eyebrows together.
"Every time around Christmas, the station throws a banquet for the officers to just get together and bring their friends." Cash replies for River.
"Oh that's cool!" I exclaim. "Hey River-"
"I'm gonna head back to my place, but I figured I'd stop by and say hey to you losers." River throws his keys up and catches them.
"River-"
"Okay well, we'll see you tomorrow." Sophia waves.
"Peace!" Cash says.
River walks out and I run after him. "River! I was trying to talk to you!"
