Change Of Heart And A Change Of Fate

Chapter 14

"Oh...this mission went horribly wrong." Alex mumbled to himself before another sharp pain ran through his bruised and bloodied body. 'Yes' Alex thought wryly, 'I think being kidnapped by some crazy organization , strung up and electrocuted counts as a mission gone bad' .

Alex had no idea where Kakashi and the rest of his team were, but he hoped that they were in a much better predicament than him.

Another wave of excruciating pain washed over him and Alex couldn't hold back the small whimper that escaped his throat. He loathed showing weakness in front of his kidnappers, but the pain was starting to get unbearable.

Alex struggled to compose himself as he wracked his brain for any possible ways to escape. He knew the people that captured him call themselves the Akatsuki...and that he was being held in some kind of cave, but nothing other than that. Alex also dully noted afterwards that he was not alone.

Another person- a male- was chained up a few feet to his left. He had deep blood red hair and black circles around his eyes. He had the kanji for love on his forehead that stood out between the spikes of his hair. Alex jumped slightly in shock when he realised that the red-head was awake and was looking at him with badly hidden curiosity.

Alex would have tried to communicate,  had there not been a person who continuously tried to shock some answers out of him. He could tell based on the questions that they realised they had snatched the wrong person, since Alex wasn't a jinchūriki  of any kind.

"-mit! I told you it was the blondie, now what are we gonna do with him?!" A grunt of pain followed the exclaim. "Calm yourself Deidara, we will use the boy as bait to lure the kjuubi jinchūriki here before we kill him off." Another voice calmly explained to his hysterical companion.

Alex started to struggle against the chains when he heard this, grunting as the metal clasps cut into his wrists and drew blood. The stinging pain encouraged him get free, desperate to keep his friends from falling for the bait set up for them. The voices of the two people suddenly stopped  before a sharp pain exploded on the side of his head. "Stop struggling , it will do you no good." A deep voice commented with a hint of annoyance in his tone. Alex grunted, the blow to his head made him dizzy, and he could also feel the blood running down the side of his face, dripping onto his already torn clothes.

"Take the One Tailed Jinchūriki to the extraction room, we don't have much time left." The person- who Alex still couldn't identify- commanded, "And Sasori, I want you and Deidara to head out and keep their rescuers busy. Don't let them get near the base." They grunted in confirmation before disappearing from sight. Alex wasn't given another look from his captors as they started unchaining the red-head next to him. Alex couldn't help but feel like this person was somehow familiar. And it didn't hit him till said person was dragged away to be killed.

"No...Gaara!!!"

Alex couldn't really tell how much time had passed. It felt like he has been hanging there for months while it could have only been a day in reality. Torture sucks. He was drenched with ice cold water before the whipping started, making it even more unbearably painful. He would receive around fifty lashes all around his body in total before moving on to the next creative device that they wanted to test. He was tired, never given more than a few minutes after each session to recover before the same routine would start all over again.

So when the small possible chance of escape revealed itself, Alex leaped and latched onto that chance with all of his remaining willpower. 

It started out small, his captors disappearing for longer periods of time, his torture being shortened to only a few whips or an ice bath. This gave Alex's chakra time to slowly build up without any of the people noticing, returning a little of his strength piece by piece. And it was after 2-3 days when he finally got the opportunity to use it
