I woke up being held extremely snug by Amèlie.

Then I remembered

Glass was still gone. My arm was still bled raw.

I looked at my skin, and I was as pale as a ghost. So much blood had been let out.

A tear ran down my face, and they kept coming.

I had started to cry.

My slightly heavy breathing and tears woke Amèlie up, who immediately started to comfort me.

I rested my head on her chest and she stroked my hair, whispering about how everything was going to be alright.

She grabbed my chin between her first finger and thumb, the same way she had the first night she came and visited.

She smiled and gave me a forehead kiss.

I smiled back and kissed her lips, which she responded by kissing back.

She caressed my cheek and held my face in her hand.

She rubbed my cheek bones with her thumb.

This... this is what love and care feels like.

She gently pushed my head onto her hand and rested her chin in my head.

Amèlie: "I love you, Crow. So incredibly much."

Crow: "I love you too Amèlie.."

She ran her fingers through my hair

Amèlie's POV

Sometimes, Crow just needs to be held, like a mother to her child.

He must have had issues with his mother as a child, because this is the most content I've ever seen anyone ever.

Crow's POV

Amèlie: "Go back to sleep. We have the whole day..."

She stood up and rubbed my scalp

Amèlie: "I'm going to go get us some breakfast."

I nodded

Crow: "Thank you, Amèlie. Please don't bring me much, I'm not too hungry."

She planted a kiss in my head and I layed back into the couch and sat in the white noise of my box fan.

A few minutes later I revived a text from Sixer.

Sixer: "Hey Boss. We all here hope you're holding up. High Council has requested that we don't have a funeral, but we're burying him anyways.

We contacted his parents, and they want him buried in their backyard. We're still waiting on an exact date, but it'd be real nice if you came."

Crow: "Of course I'm coming, just get me the day when you can, thanks."

Sixer: "Aye aye sir."

I felt relieved to be able to bury Glass, and tell his parents his last words.

I took a deep breath, and let myself sink into the peacefulness.

Amèlie returned with some food for us, and she sat down next to me on the couch.

She brought me back some eggs and a croissant, very French of her.

She must have went to the higher-class cafeteria, they would never have had a damn croissant at the Grunt Hut.
