The Crow's Call (An Overwatch Story)

Part 11: Fear and Dead Men

I woke up feeling like I got absolutely zero sleep.

I walked to the mirror and my eye bags had never been darker.

But I noticed something; The communication contacts (Commtacts Sombra liked to call them) shown a bright blinding white, completely colliding with my true-black eyes.

Cool.

I walked to the grunt's cafeteria to be greeted by around 30 Talon Soldiers eating their lunch.

Wait...

LUNCH?

Holy shit I woke up at noon? Damn.

I went and grabbed my coffee and strolled back to my room.

I sat in my room for awhile, just kinda existing. Waiting to be called for a mission or something.

My contacts buzzed, and Doomfist's voice bellowed through the comms.

Akande: "Crow, we have a mission for you. Meet me in the briefing room."

I went to the briefing room and was greeted by Akande.

To give you the rundown, I had to go the some overwatch outpost in the middle of Africa.. and I just looove hot weather.

I exited the briefing room and was stopped by Amèlie.

Crow: "Hey Amèlie, how's it go-"

She cut me off

Widowmaker: "You've got a mission, right?"

Crow: "Yeah... why?"

Widow: "Then why were you up so late last night? Did you even get any sleep?"

Wow, she was really pushing this sleep stuff

Crow: "How do you even know about that?"

Widow: "Sigma told me. And many many Talon grunts were complaining about some banging being heard from the gym.."

That damn rat

Crow: "Oh.. I was having some.. a.. just a midnight workout!" Hiding the true reason I went out.

She stared at me, obviously knowing I was lying.

Widow: "We'll discuss this later.. for now you need to get ready."

Crow: "Yeah.. yeah I should do that huh?"

I walked back to my room and geared up.

Went to the dropship and boarded.

About halfway through the flight I got a text from Amèlie

Amèlie: "Sorry for getting mad earlier, I just worry about you. I still want to talk later though."

Crow: "Aw, you care :,)"

Amèlie: "Hey!"

I giggled and put my phone away, I sat back and cleared my head for the rest of the ride.
