The Crow's Call (An Overwatch Story)

Part 22: Big News

I sat in the massive Auditorium on a chair placed on the stage.

Akande had walked up to the podium.

The hall was filled with silence.

Akande spoke up

Akande: "Ladies and Gentlemen of Talon... We have some ground breaking news.."

He nodded to Sombra, and she stepped forward.

Sombra: "Last night, a joint operation of Beta-9 and Delta-7 lead an overwatch outpost to be demolished in a massive explosion. This explosion was obviously seen by the press and was deemed a terrorist attack. But, by Overwatch."

The Talon grunts started to whisper around

Sombra: "As if 4 Am this morning, all remaining Overwatch soldiers, including high ranking officers such as Jack Morrison and Lena Oxton, have been Imprisoned."

The hall erupted in cheer

I stepped up to the podium

Crow: "I am the leader of Delta-7, and along with Beta-9, we cleared out the Overwatch compound and blew it to high hell. I would now like my Brave team to step up to the stage."

In this timeline/universe, overwatch was disbanded two months before Crow joined Talon, so Overwatch hasn't been in hiding for too long. Crow has been in Talon for a year at this point.

As Delta-7 marched proudly up to the stage, they fell in line and I rested a medal around their heads.

As I held the final award, I noticed that I had ran out of men.

Glass

I thought to myself.

I tucked the award safely in my belt and saluted to my squad.

They returned it and the crowd erupted in cheer.

Amèlie gave the same awards to her squad and Akande came back up to the podium

Akande: "Now, with Overwatch gone... we can finally plunge the world into the conflict that will evolve the entire Earth!"

The crowd roared, I turned to Sixer, looking very worried.

He returned the same look.

I looked to Amèlie next, looking worried as well.

There was something fishy about this.

Amèlie and I went to my room, where we sat in the couch.

Amèlie: "So.. I have some more news for you."

I cocked an eyebrow to her

Amèlie: "This.. 'conflict' that Akande is talking about.. it might lead to the end of Talon."

My eyes widened

Amèlie: "So.. I was wondering what we're doing to do?"

Crow: "Like me and you? Us?"

She nodded

Crow: "Amèlie... I'm not leaving you. We're going to work this out, ok?"

Amèlie smirked

Amèlie: "I guess we should secure that, huh?"

She ran her hand down my chest

One thing leads to another and.... yeah you know... s e x

After we were... done... Amèlie left to her room to rest.

I sat down and thought about what we were going to do.

But there's no way that Talon is actually going to end, right?

I erased the thought out of my head and slept it off.

We'll be ok.
