Chapter 10 ~ Escape

Lightnings POV

I looked at the sharp piece of metal in my hand. We had started to make weapons out of stuff we had or found.

Everyone was making their own weapon.

I stayed close to Carl not wanting to lose him. I hoped that Thunder and Adam were okay.

"Hey. It's okay." Carl whispered so no one could hear him. I gave him a quick kiss.

"I love you." I whispered back.

"I love you too." Carl said going back to crafting his weapon.

All of a sudden the door to the boxcar clicked and we all got into a fighting stance.

The door opened and cans were thrown into the boxcar. Some type of gas poured out and my vision got blurry. I saw everyone start to fall to the ground until I finally started falling but passed out before I could hit the hard boxcar floor.

I groaned as I woke up and my head immediately started pounding.

"Hey." I heard the rough voice of Carl behind me. I realized I was laying on top of him.

"What the fuck?!" I asked holding my head.

"They took our weapons." Michonne growled. "They took Rick, Glenn and Daryl too."

I looked at Maggie who was sitting alone in the corner. I gave Carl a quick kiss and crawled over to her.

She didn't look at me. She just focused on her lap. Her knees were pressed against her chest.

"Hey." I said softly lightly touching Maggie's knee. She jumped a little and her head snapped towards me. I removed my hand and she stared at me trying not to cry but she failed and I wrapped my arms around her letting her cry into my shoulder.

Soon the doors clicked open again and Carl ran to my side and Michonne stood in front of us.

"Go!" A rough voice came from outside.

We heard noise on the stairs and people came into the boxcar but we couldn't see there faces. It was dark since it was nighttime.

The boxcar door closed it ha click and the people started talking and I immediately knew who they were.

I stood up left Maggie's side walking to the other side of the boxcar slowly.

"Adam? Thunder?" I asked and I felt two pairs of arms wrap around me.

"Thank god your safe." The weak voice of my older sister sounded.

"What now?!" Abraham asked from the darkness. "Where's everyone else?"

"They took them. I dont know where they are." I said sighing and glancing at Maggie.

"We need to get out of here!" I yelled banging on the boxcar door. "HEY! LET US OUT YOU ASS HOLES!" I screamed tears burning my eyes as I hit the boxcar door multiple times as hard as I could making my fists hurt and start to bleed.

I felt arms wrap around my waits and pull me back and up from the ground. I kicked my legs and through my fists in the air.

"LET ME GO!" I said crying and screaming. We needed to get out. I couldn't be in here.

"LIGHTNING! Calm down!" Adams voice said into my ear as he sat on the floor placing me in his lap.

I continued to kick and try to get out of his grip but he held my waist firmly.

"Stop. Sis it's okay!" Adam said hugging me and trying to get me to stay still. I finally gave up beginning to get tired. I barred my head into his neck and sobbed.

"It's never okay." I replied simply.
