I sighed walking down the road. My backpack was heavy and was starting to hurt my shoulders. The muddy road made squishing sounds as my heavy boots stomped on it.

I came to a random neighbourhood and walked to the nearest house. I took out my knife and examined the blade. The sunlight bounced off of the shiny metal and it was sharp.

I knocked on the door loudly. I waited two or three minutes before I kicked the door open after not hearing any sounds. I walked inside and immediately covered my nose.

I scoffed looking at the 3 dead bodies. Not undead. Dead.

Someone's been here.

The first thought that came to my mind. They could be gone by now. They could still be in this house or neighbourhood.

I looked around cautiously but there was nothing useful here and there was no person to be found. I left the house and went to the next.

I did the same procedure that I did at the other house. There was nothing useful in that house either.

The next 4 houses were empty. I sighed and went to a different street and found myself right next to a mall.

I looked at the large mall. Walkers were in the parking lot and on the road everywhere but the mall was surrounded by a chain fence. I looked at the gas station a little ways up from the mall. I went for it.

Slowly walking into the gas station knife in front of me, I killed the 2 biters inside and searched there corpses. Nothing useful.

The store was full of chips, drinks, chocolate bars, gum and a lot of useful things. I sighed and gathered everything together shoving it in a few boxes I found in the back on the store.

"I need to find a working car." I mumbled to myself. That became a habit since I was alone. I decided to leave most of my stuff at the gas station so I wouldn't have to carry it around with me and this would also be my place to come back too once I was done in the mall.

I looked at the two dead biters on the floor and cut on of them open. Smearing it's blood and guts all over me I prepared myself to head into the mall.

I had my gun in one hand and my knife in my other. I cut the fence open and slipped inside unnoticed.

I walked into the mall. The doors were broken and walkers were scattered everyone. I was on the bottom floor. There were maybe 20 walkers that I could see. Not very many around which was good.

I travelled up the still escalator to the top floor killing a biter or two. As I got to the top floor there were about two dozen biters roaming around.

I looked at the nearest store. A dollar store. 7 walkers inside. I looked at the empty glass bottles in a grey bin next to me. Just my luck. I took two bottles in one hand and threw them after making sure none of the walkers were looking at me. I watched as 4 of the walkers inside the dollar store had come out and all of the walkers went to the broken bottles.

Making sure none of them were looking I threw two more bottles a little further away from the walkers. They all went for those. I made my way to the Dollarama and killed the one walker that was to close to me. I quietly closed the chain door so that none of the walkers could get in.

I killed the other 2 that I could see. I scanned the isles and found 5 more hidden walkers all in different isles.

I grabbed a shopping cart and quietly went down the isles not wanting to attract any unwanted attention to myself.

I got all of the chips, bars and drink/ and anything else useful like tape, sharp objects, hats, gloves, scarves. Winter was coming and it was getting colder.

I decided to spend the night in the dollar store. I ate chips and drank Mountain Dew.

I had a sleeping spot in a storage room made out of pillows and a few other things I found.

I went to sleep on the somewhat comfortable pillows. It was better than the forest floor or the concrete ground.
