Lightnings POV

Dead bodies. Scattered everywhere along the road and off into a field on each side of the road. They were everywhere. Bodies limp on the ground. A giant metal wall was barely visible in the distance.

"We need to leave. We can't stay here." I said holding back my sisters hair because she was throwing up the little food she had left in her stomach.

Rick pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed.

"Where are we going to go?" Maggie asked.

"I know a town. Few miles back off of route 6. We could go there." I suggested. I remember the town well. I had been there once when this thing started. Never got a chance to look around though.

"Okay." Rick said. "Let's get a move on."

Everyone walked back to the vehicles that they had slept in. Me and Carl jumped in the hatch back and sat down. Carl put a comforting hand on my knee and kissed my cheek.

"I love you." I whispered as I buried my head in his neck.

"And I love you." He whispered back kissing the top of my head.

We had finally made it to the town. We stopped at the first house we saw. Rick, Sasha, Maggie, and Bob went into one house while me, Carl, Thunder and Daryl went into another.

After looting the entire neighbourhood it was already dark and we had a shit ton of food, drinks and other supplies.

We're all currently held up in one of the houses. Bob and Sasha had the King sized bed in the master bedroom, me and carl were sharing a room in some teenage boys room, Thunder was in a single bed in what I'm guessing was a spare room while uncle Daryl slept on the floor, Maggie was downstairs on a mattress with some blankets and stuff, Michonne was on a couch and Rick was on the other couch.

We had the house secured. Boarded up the doors, windows, everything. We put blankets over the windows so the walkers wouldn't see the light.

We had already eaten and we were all in bed.

I snuggled closer to Carl enjoying his presence and his warmth. I felt safe with him. Cheesy I know but it's true.

My eye lids droopy. Carl kissed my forehead and I heard his breathing slow. He was asleep. I was about to fall asleep also when I heard loud banging and screaming from outside. The voices were muffled so I couldn't hear what they were saying.

I sprung out of the bed and grabbed my gun running downstairs behind Bob and Sasha and Carl was behind me with uncle Daryl and Thunder close behind.

Rick, Michonne and Maggie were already prying off the wood panels off the door.

"PLEASE LET US IN! HELP!" The voices kept saying over and over again. Three of the voices sounded so familiar...

I turned and looked at Thunder and uncle Daryl.

"It can't be...." I trailed off.

"It's Adam." Thunder said smiling.

I turned back to the door and helped Rick pry of the boards. Thunder came to help to subconsciously pushing Rick out of the way.

I ripped the door open and was pushed out of the way by one person and five people following him.

"Glenn!" Maggie screamed running to her husband. Five other people stood there only one facing away from us. I noticed one girl. She was apart of the group that attacked the prison.

I got my gun out and pinned the girl to the wall shoving my gun in her face.

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't blow your brains out right now." I growled at her. Her breath was shaky.

"Lightning stop! She saved my damn life! Let her go!" I heard Glenn say behind me.

I gave the girl one last glare before letting her go.

The person that was turned away from us before slowly straightened his posture and turned around.

Adam. My older brother. Thunder ran to him and hugged the shit out of him. I just stared. This couldn't be real. He couldn't really be here. It was impossible. I'm dreaming. My big brother was standing in front of me.

I slowly backed away once Thunder and Adam had stopped hugging.

"Lightning it's me." Adam said looking a little hurt. All I did was turn and run upstairs.

I closed the door to mine and Carls room and locked the door. Thank god there was a lock.

"Lightning let me in. Please." I heard Carl bang on the door and call out.

I slowly opened the door and let Carl in closing it and locking it again.

Carl pulled me into his arms and I silently sobbed.

"I can't Carl. I can't face him. Not now." I said as Carl wiped away my tears.

"Hey, it's okay. But you have to face him at one point. You can't avoid him. He's part of the group. I'm not sure what happen with you guys but whatever it is your gonna have to forget about it. He's your brother." Carl said convincing me to go talk to my brother. I just nodded and we went downstairs hand in hand.

Adam turned around as he heard our footsteps. I felt myself brake a little. My hand slipped from Carls as I ran and jumped on my brother wrapping my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck.

"I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry." I sobbed.

"It's okay. I'm here now. It's all gonna be okay." My big brother whispered soothing words in my ear and rubbed my back.

He would do this when we were little. Days I would come home crying with some sort of food or drink somewhere on me and Adam would clean me up and whisper soothing words in my ear while rubbing my back. He always knew how to calm me down and make me feel better. I loved him. He was the best brother anyone could ever ask for.

We stayed in the same position for about 5 minutes until I finally put my feet on the floor but kept hugging my brother.

Later that night we were all sitting in the living room chatting. We all decided we needed to go somewhere safe. Maggie kept saying we needed to look for Beth and Carol and everyone else which I agreed of course but everyone else said we should head for Terminus. It was supposed to be a safe haven. I thought it was bull shit but majority rules.

"Okay. Rest up. Three days and we head to Terminus." Rick announced.

Everyone went to their beds and the new comers had to sleep in the basement where there was a pull out couch for Abraham and Rosita, and in the apartment was a couch for Adam, a double bed for Maggie and Glenn and Eugene slept on Maggie on couch. The other girl who's name I forget slept on some cushions upstairs in the living room.

Three days until we leave for the supposed safe haven. This was going to be a long three days...
