MAY 22LUNA ROSE FROM her slumber at exactly eight in the morning, tiredly stretching her arms out as a loud yawn erupted from her mouth. She never really was a morning person.
Shutting off her alarm, she climbed out of bed and wiggled her feet into her fur slippers. The sun was shining brightly, the lovely May weather having unraveled as it neared the end of the month.
She had to set an alarm for a few days, waking her up earlier, due to the fact that she promised to cover Hoseok's shifts in the mornings.
Hoseok had been in the hospital for a few days because of an accident. She wasn't quite sure of what it was, but having known his condition, she had an idea. He must have collapsed somewhere and injured himself, which made her all the more worried. But, she remembered that he would always tell her not to worry and knew that he would be back soon.

Her day at work was quite boring, to say the least. Because it was a Sunday, there was a lack of office workers who would come by for lunch; the only few customers would be mom-friends who made their kids tag along. Also, she didn't have Hoseok to spend time with at all.
After work, she was driving to the gas station, due to the newfound fact that Jang-Mi often forgot about filling up the gas. She didn't really mind it, though, as she could just go to the same gas station as she did the first time to talk to the mysterious boy, whom she remembered from more than a month ago.
On her way to the station, she couldn't help but notice a crowd of people on the side of the street. There was a police car parked in front of a few old apartments, surrounded by a few citizens who looked quite concerned. The police siren was blaring as she slowly drove past, squinting curiously to get a glance at what was going on. Though, as she couldn't see anything, she shrugged it off and continued driving. It was probably another druggie caught by the police.
As she pulled up into the station, she opened her window eagerly, expecting to see the boy ready to bend over to her window again, but it wasn't him this time. Rather, it was an older guy who wore a different uniform whom she'd never seen before. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she titled her head at him.
"Good evening, ma'am!" the man greeted cheerfully.
"H-Hi! Um, regular diesel, please," she asked.
"Diesel! Wow, okay, got ya'!" the man exclaimed and proceeding to his duties.
Luna looked around the gas station for the boy, but he was nowhere to be seen. The place did look cleaner, though, as there was no longer any trash just laying beside trash cans. The lighting was brighter and held a better mood.
The sudden voice of the man telling Luna the price through the window startled her.
"Oh! Sure," Luna swallowed and pulled out her wallet, quickly handing him the won.
"Thanks, ma'am!" he exclaimed. "Say, this might be quite random of me to ask, but would you be interested in a job here?" he asked hopefully. "I'm seriously understaffed here."
"A-A job here?" Luna raised her eyebrows at the question. "Sorry, I already have a job," she chuckled nervously. "W-What happened to the boy who worked here?"
"What boy?"
"...The smoker?"
"Oh, Namjoon," he scoffed, his positive and cheerful attitude suddenly disappearing as his eyebrows furrowed. "He was arrested a while ago."
"Arrested?" her voice trailed off in confusion as she looked down at her palms. "That's a bummer. I guess.. I'll get going then," she muttered as she started her car.
"Come back soon!" the man's chirpy voice returned as she just politely smiled at him before driving away.
I wonder why he was arrested, she thought in her head as she made her way home.
Luna let out a huge sigh as she finally fell on top of her bed after changing into her matching pajama set. Jang-Mi had apologized again once she got home, but Luna simply brushed it off and chuckled at her overly-kind personality. She wished she would meet more people like her, but unfortunately, the world wasn't blessed with angels.
She turned her bedside lamp off as she settled underneath her blankets, closing her eyes as she tried to fall into a slumber.
Though, a sudden increase in her heart rate made her fling her eyes open in confusion. She felt it vividly, she heard it in her ears, the rapid pulsing of her heartbeat caused by an unknown reason.
Then, she felt her stomach churn. It wasn't a stomachache, it wasn't nausea, it was something else. It was as if her lungs and the rest of her entire chest dropped to her stomach.
Her body went stiff, tiny beads of sweat forming on the temples of her forehead as she began to pant heavily.
Then, she experienced something different.
As it seemed, from far away in her mind, she heard a voice. It was a voice she'd never heard before, foreign as it echoed through her head.
"If you could..." it lingered.
"... turn back time..."
It then said other words, incompressible to her as the words floated around, meshing together to create incoherent sounds.
"...Save everyone?"
Is what she managed to put together from that voice. It then fell silent, the only sound being her heartbeat, barely steady.
"I would do anything." Is all she heard next, from a a new voice, a deeper voice, before her vision turned completely white.
She felt nothing anymore, she saw nothing anymore, the brightness possessing her body before she suddenly heard the piercing sound of the intense breaking of glass.
