Tangled Life Chapter 10
It wasn't long before David and I ran out of things to talk about so we decided to watch some TV programs instead while waiting for Mary and Seb's return; he said that he didn't want to leave me alone while waiting for our friends.
While lazily surfing the channels, I came across HBO where they were about to show Tangled so I let out a tiny squeal of joy and David suddenly burst into laughter.
"What?" I asked, turning to look at him.
"Nothing," he said while trying to contain his laughter.
"Well, that couldn't be nothing, you're laughing at me, aren't you?" I said, raising an eyebrow.
"No!" said David, eyes widening in mock horror. "I would never."
"Uh-huh," I said with sarcasm.
"Fine, fine," said David giving up. "I was, your reaction was so funny! Your eyes lit up like a child on Christmas day."
"Because it's my favorite movie," I explained.
"I know," said David. "It's just so funny seeing a reaction like that from you, nevertheless what brought it up."
"Oh hush!" I whispered at him as the movie began.
I felt awkward watching the movie with David since he knew why I love it and what it has to do with me. I kept on glancing at him every now and then, that when I looked at him again, he looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Don't think too much," said David. "And quit stressing out. You're gonna miss the whole movie if you keep on looking at me, and besides, whatever happens will happen. Don't over analyze things now that you know I know about THAT."
I was a bit uncertain and David seemed to have felt it so he reached out to hold my hand. It surprised me but I didn't take my hand away since he was holding my hand in a comforting manner. I blushed a little and tried to contain a smile that was forming on my face. I looked at him for the last time before I focus on the movie and saw that he was looking at me giving me a small smile which made me blush even more.
We were already thirty minutes into the movie and I felt my back ache a little from my position. David stood up and sat beside me on my bed and I suddenly felt his hands on my back and shoulders and he led me to lean against him, making my head fit at the crook of his neck and shoulders. I stiffened a little, not knowing on what to do.
"Don't think to much," David reminded me. "Just relax."
I looked up to him and saw him smiling as he looks straight at the TV so I just sighed a little and relaxed a bit. I admit, this is a very nice position, I thought.
A couple of minutes had passed and we were so engrossed in the movie that I hadn't given a thought about our entwined hands. We didn't even notice the door open when Mary and Seb entered.
"We're ba-!" shouted Mary but was cut short when she saw me and David.
I was startled by Mary and Seb's arrival so I quickly sat up straight, cheeks flaming, looking at the two. Mary's expression quickly changed from pure shock to a devilish grin while Seb's were playing between shock and confusion.
"It's not what you think!" I blurted out in panic.
A few seconds of silence passed by between the four of us then I heard a sniggering sound beside me, I looked at David in confusion and saw that he was trying his best to contain his laughter but he's failing. I gave him a bewildered look which just made him laugh louder forgetting the fact that he was trying not to earlier.
