"SO, HOW MANY TIMES have you tried this and failed?" Estella asked the three boys in front of her.

"A lot," Sirius laughed.

"And you do know the requirements, right?"

"Yeah, yeah. You have to have some leaf in your mouth for a month." James shrugged casually.

"You do know which one as well, correct?" Estella raised a brow at the clearly clueless boys.

"Uh, a Mander.. in?" Sirius asked hopefully, hoping to be correct.

"A Mandrake leaf, Sirius. Mandrake. They're absolutely disgusting. You keep them under your tongues for a month. And there's a spell, too. You have that written down?" Estella explained.

Peter opened the book to the three kids, and there it showed,

Amato Animo Animato Animagus.

To preform the ritual of becoming an Animagus, you must state the incantation while placing the tip of your wand of the castors heart, and repeat the incantation.

"That's quite the tongue twister," James muttered. The boys would have often referred to each other in human and Animagus form as the names on the Marauders Map.

"So," Peter started. "What'll we be?"

"THIS IS CALLED THE Room of Requirement." Estella explained. "You think of what you require, and the room'll require it."

"Wow, really?" Sirius said sarcastically. "Would've never guessed."

"Knowing you, you probably wouldn't." James snickered, earning a slap behind his head from Sirius.

"You know," Peter smiled. "I'd love to do this but, you do know we'd be illegal basically, right?"

"That's the fun part, Wormy." Sirius smirked.

"You like getting caught, Pads?" James looked at the boy suspiciously.

"I know, I know. You'd be unregistered Animagi. I've done my research, here." Estella opened the book to a long worded page.

"Part of the process by which one became an Animagus was holding the leaf of a mandrake in their mouth for an entire month, using the leaf for the creation of a potion, reciting an incantation (Amato Animo Animato Animagus) on a daily basis, and drinking the Animagus potion during a lightning storm. Once the initial training was over, an Animagus could then change at will, with or without the use of a wand." She read.

"I wanna do it." said Sirius.

"What?"

"If it'll help Remus, I'll do it."

"Sirius is right," James added. "Remus is our best friend. If this'll make him feel more comfortable with his transformations, we'll do it."

Estella grinned at the two boys willing to risk everything for their best friend. And Estella being Estella, she'd risk everything for Remus too.

"Ooh!" Peter squealed excitingly. "I can't wait to tell Remus!"

"Peter, sh!" Estella yelled as the boy's face dropped. "I'm sorry. Listen, I know you're excited, but we can't tell Remus. Not yet. If this doesn't work, he'll get his hopes up."

The boy nodded disappointedly but understandably.

Sirius smiled at the girl, "You're a good friend, Essie, you know that?"

"Thank you, Sirius. And yeah, I'm quite aware. Alright," Estella grinned mischievously. "Who's ready to become unregistered Animagi?"

"THAT WAS DISGUSTING," James uttered in disgust at the memory of the after taste of the Mandrake leaf in his mouth. "Remus is lucky he's worth it."

"Well, good luck, you'll need it. That's not all you have to learn, surprisingly." Estella flipped the pages of her book. "This isn't required, but I consider it quite necessary."

"What is it?"

"You need to learn how to cast a Patronus charm."

"Why would we need that?" Sirius asked.

"You'll find out soon enough. Turns out this is a lot harder than expected."

"Yep," James added. "We have to repeat the incantation daily. And I'm telling you, Peter, don't spit it out this time. We're all dealing with it. We can't start over again."

Peter sighed, not having any response to James comment.

"Estella, not that I mind having you with us every night, but why are you bothering helping us?" Sirius asked.

"Well, I was thinking.." Estella looked down at the ground, kicking her feet. "I think I want to do this too. I think I want to become an Animagus with you."
