It had been awhile since the attack in the city and Dabi showing up. Endeavor had gotten out of the hospital and was performing again. Hawks's wings had a full set of feathers, and I had learned how to cope with the confrontations I seem to keep having with the man with blue flames.
Today I just needed a break. Keigo hadn't came home the night before due to being on a mission. He would be home today or tomorrow though. Seeing that I had no work to do today unless there was a villain attack I decided to go out on a walk.
There was a nice trail on a mountain nearby so I decided that would be the best place to go. Today wasn't too hot nor too cold of a day. The breeze also helped with that factor. I could here the leaves moving as I walked under the canopy. The light danced across my face and the trail in front of me.
Sighing, I shoved my hands in my pockets and enjoyed the scenery. Soon, I came to a clearing with a picnic bench sitting in the middle. It was run down and seemed like it need to be replaced soon. Even then, it didn't seem like many people visited this area. The grass was wild and overgrown with weeds and various plants.
There was one spot that seemed soft enough to lay down on and that's what I did. Slowly stretching out my limbs and my wings I yawned and smiled happily at the sky. Times like this remind me of how peaceful things could be if humanity wasn't so corrupted. If only we had the common sense to let nature be.
I sat up and looked up at the sky. What if I fell.....my wings stretched out then took off. My speed helped me get to unimaginable heights in no time. The city beneath me getting smaller and smaller. From here I could see the ocean glistening.
I kept going until the air got thin. It had gotten harder to breath let alone pulse my wings any longer. Feathers flew around me as my body fell back towards Earth. The sound of the wind in my ears was deafening but calming.
The only thing that would keep me alive at this point we're my wings. My quirk, if anything happened to them at this very moment I'd be done for. If all quirks around the world suddenly disappeared I would surely be dead in the next few seconds, the ground coming up to meet me at a quick pace.
Keigo's face and voice came into mind. His smile and his kind words. That's what I live for, in order to be with him. I also live to see the smiles on the people of the public and to save people from themselves and others. That's why the public named me the black winged angel.
I am the reason why countless people are alive, I am the reason why others live. I turned over and opened my eyes to see how close the ground had gotten. I still had time to save myself but barely any. My wings spread open and I shot back up into the sky. The ground beneath me received a high speed gush of air. The leaves of the trees blew around wildly.
There was a family who witnessed my action and we're pointing at me cheering the teenager was holding out their phone filming me, Keigo would surely see this dangerous act on the internet.....how would I explain it to him? I guess I'll cross that road when I go there, for now I'll glide across the city looking for anything to do.
"Thank you!!!" I waved to the man behind the counter as I walked out. I decided to go to a small restraunt yo get some lunch. Looking around, there was a video playing on one of the big screens. It was the video the teen had taken of me.
Averting my eyes away from the screen I giggled and quickly walking away. A little girl pointed at me, "Mommy!!! Mommy look it's her!!!" The little girl had small black wings. I smiled and waved walking up to them.
