His Black Winged Angel

Chapter 7

It's been a few months since the internship. When I woke up my body felt weak. It was freezing cold, my chest back and head hurt. I looked at the time and realized it was almost time to go to school.

My mother knew this too. She started banging on the door. "Get your ass out of bed!!" I pulled the sheets over my head. The door opened and I heard her walk next to my bed. The sheets were pulled off of me and I groaned. "Get your ass out of bed and get to school."

"Fine," I grumble as I hastily get up and pack a bag of clothes and put on a hoodie.

"Where the fuck are you going!?" She followed me out of my room and to the front door. I was putting on my shoes when I responded.

"Somewhere that isn't here," my voice was raspy and I left the house and flew onto the roof. I pulled out my phone and called Keigo.

"What's up kid? Is everything okay?"

I coughed before I could respond,"I'm not feeling well, can you come get me?"

"Yeah, I'll get there as fast as I can, you don't sound too good. Hang tight." We hang up and I lay down and huddle up in my hood. I had fallen asleep and woke up when I heard a pair of feet land next to me. My eyes open and I see a pair of boots, I recognize them to belong to a winged hero.

"Kid you doing alright?" He kneeled in front of me and put an ungloved hand on my forehead. "Shit! You're burning up!" I felt him pick me up and take flight.

When I came back into consciousness Keigo was landing on the roof of his penthouse and taking me downstairs to lay me on his couch. He took my bag and put it in my room and put a blanket over me. "I'll make you some food. I'll also inform UA of your condition."

"No...you don't have to...I'll call UA," I sit up to grab my phone.

"No, you need to lay down, get comfortable," Keigo grabs my shoulders and pushes me back down,"Here, watch a movie," he turned on the TV and walked into the kitchen to start making some ramen.

I started a coughing fit. Keigo turned his head to look at me with a concerned look and resumed cooking. "I'll take a break and come bring you some cough medicine. How's your head?"

"It hurts and it's foggy. I feel like I'm looking through fog... My body is really sore..."

"You'll stay here until you feel better, or at least until your fever let's up." I felt a weight on my legs. It felt like it weighed a point or less. I look over and see a kitten making is way over to me to curl up under the blanket.

"Hi Akira," she curled up and I could feel her purring. She's one of the kittens I had found on my first day of the internship. Keigo adopted her and her mother a week or two afterwards. She's a small calico kitten. The rest of the kittens found homes. "Where's Miyu?"

"I think she's sleeping on your bed, don't strain too much to try and speak."

Ever since I woke up this morning it hurt to breathe. My chest felt like it was burning. I need to get better so that I don't fall behind on my schoolwork. Nejire! I need to ask her to fill me in on lessons. "Don't stress about school, I'll have someone ask Nejire to send a copy of notes."

Once he finished the ramen he came over with a bowl of it as well as a cup of tea. Keigo helped me to sit up so I could eat."Careful, it's hot." I nod as I get ready to eat. Akira decided to lay in my lap. He sat next to me and rubbed the lower part of my back as I ate.

"You'll be okay alone? You'll call if you need anything, right?" I nod in response. He gets up and walks towards the door, "I'll be back in a few hours with some cough medicine."

At that, Keigo left and locked the door. I wasn't really sure what to do alone. I put on a movie and wrapped myself in a blanket. Miyu came out and ate some of her food so Akira jumped off the couch to play with her mother. After finishing the tea I fell asleep.

A few hours later there was a knock at the door. I just laid there knowing that if Keigo wanted to come in he'd open the door with a key, or at least announce that he's there. The knock came again louder this time. When I didn't answer I heard a loud crash upstairs. I immediately sat up. The front door busted open.

"I thought you said nobody would be here," the man yelled. I assumed he had an ear piece and was talking to someone. "Alright, we kill the child? Okay." He looked up at me and blue flames came out of his body.

I let my blanket fall and reveal my wings. "NightWing, fancy seeing you again." He ran after me but I ran upstairs. Keigo will be back soon let's hope he comes in time. "Scared? Don't worry I'll make it quick." Does he not know what my quirk is? Fire doesn't work on me.

When I got to the second floor a girl around my age pinned me down. She had blonde hair and was wearing what looked to be a school uniform. There was a sharp pain in my abdomen and I tried to scream. No noise came out of my mouth. "Oh, no fun. I wasn't able to hear you scream. But at least I am able to make you bleed."

She had a huge grin on her face and seemed very excited. She started to twist the knife and I felt my wings start to flap. I grabbed I a feather and hardened it into steal to try and stab her back but she jumped away.

Grabbing my side, I ran as quickly as I could up to the roof. I'll be able to fly off the building and get help. My phone is downstairs I didn't have enough time to send an S.O.S. to Keigo. Fuck, what am I going to do.

"NightWing!!!" Keigo! He's here! The man in the black coat emerged and ran at me. I tried to run to the edge of the roof but he grabbed me and broke my wing. A barely audible scream left my mouth. I could feel tears forming in the back of my eyes.

The man walked over to the edge of the roof. He held me by my neck over the edge as Keigo came onto the roof. My hands grabbed at his. I started to feel light headed. "Let them go Dabi!"

"Fine by me," Dabi opened his hand and dropped me. Keigo yelled and followed after.

POV change

Once Keigo had gotten onto the roof he saw Dabi holding you over the edge. It angered him to see you in such a state. Blood was visible on your hoodie and was dripping down the side of your leg.

He also noticed one of your Raven black wings was handing at an awkward angle. Telling him that it was broken. Keigo knew that he would have to grab you if you fell.

So, that's exactly he did. He made Dabi drop you, hoping he could get there before you hit the ground. "Come on kid, wake up. That will make it easier for the both of us." Keigo was getting anxious. His eyes had turned red and pupils were small slits.

A few feathers had been sent to you to try and slow your fall. Keigo managed to grab you and held onto you bridal style as he redirected himself to the hospital's emergency room.

"They've been stabbed and have a broken wing!" A few doctors came in and took you on a stretcher to start treatment. They brought recovery girl in and she was able to heal you. Keigo had to speak with the police.
