Once I wake up, I sit up quickly. Next to me a monitor making a fast beeping noise. A few nurses come rushing in, Keigo following close behind them. His red wings stand out in the small crowd of nurses. He notices that I'm awake and pushes past them to get to me. "Oh Babybird, you're awake." He gives me a hug.
He's never called me anything other than kid and a blush appeared on my face. When he realized he said that out loud he also blushed but didn't care cause he was relieved that I was okay.
I hugged back and nuzzled his shoulder. Then I realized I don't know what happened. "I- what happened?"
"You don't remember?"
"I remember blue fire, pain, and yelling." I tried my best to figure out what happened.
"Two villains attacked you while I was gone. I'm sorry I didn't get home in time, I could've prevented it." His voice softened at the end and he sounded distressed. I hugged him tighter.
"It's okay, at least you were able to save me in the end. I'm here now, right?" He nodded and pulled away. A doctor needed to examine me.
"Everything seems good, you should be able to go home tomorrow." We thank the doctor and she leaves.
"So uhhh how many days has it been?"
"Two, not counting the day you were attacked."
"I should be going back to school..."
"First you need to rest. You'll be able to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow. Tomorrow you don't have school," his voice softened again and he put his hand behind his neck, looking away a little, "Also, I would like it if you came over on the weekends."
"I can do that, if I can't be there Friday after school, I'll be there Saturday morning."
"Sounds like a deal." We sat there talking for hours when I heard familiar voices calling my name. I look up and see Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki standing at the door.
"Aww you guys didn't have to come all the way over here to see me," a dark blush appeared on my face,"also, how did you get in?"
Keigo cleared his throat and sat back. "You called them didn't you?!"
"I may or may not have used a device to contact a certain person across the city and tell them to come cheer you up," he was looking at a window pretending he didn't do anything. I laughed and all three of them came to give me a hug.
"How are you feeling?" Nejire asked once they all pulled away.
"I hope you're not in too much pain,'' Mirio piped in with concern in his voice.
"Recovery Girl came in to help, and I was probably in pain for about 5-10 minutes before I passed out."
"Do you remember what happened?" Mirio asked.
"Not very much."
Tamaki stepped in,"Maybe you shouldn't push them to talk about it."
"Yeah sorry about that Y/N," Mirio apologized.
"Yeah, sorry Y/N. Oh! I made this for you," Nejire handed me a basket, there were cookies and fruit,"and here's a copy of notes from class." She handed me a packet of papers.
"Thanks Nejire," I smiled and Keigo took the objects and sat them next to my bag he had brought from his place. Visiting hours were over and they had to get a train home so they left. Keigo wouldn't let the hospital staff kick him out. He slept on the couch by my bed.
He looked so peaceful. He wasn't worrying about anything, not me, not work, nothing. I watched the rise and fall of his chest, in doing so I synced up my own breathing with his and slowly fell asleep.
