"It's like you're screaming
and no one can hear."
____________

Waking up with a audible gasp, the young girl quickly sat up and looked around at her surroundings frantically. She was in a box that seemed to be moving upwards at an immense speed. Where am I? She began to panic as she helplessly slammed into the boxes filled with supplies that were placed next to her. Clashing within the walls, she let out multiple grunts as she squeezed her eyes shut and gritted her teeth.

She let out a loud, violent cough, water emerged from her throat that looked to be tainted with a crimson color. It was like she was drowning, her lungs were shrinking, giving up on her.

With alarms blaring and red lights flickering, she felt herself become overwhelmed within her own thoughts. How did i get here? She looked down at her appearance and furrowed her eyebrows, obvious confusion, fear and anger written on her face.

Blood.

There was blood on her clothes, and, in her hair. However, it wasn't hers. She blindly felt with her hands at her surroundings as she grabbed the handle of what felt like a small knife. It felt natural to be holding a weapon as such. Her breathing became heavier and ragged as she tried to calm herself down, but it was no use.

Her available hand gripped the floor, it wasn't normal. The floor was gridded, like a fence. She was in an elevator type room.

Then it hit her, the question she was meaning to ask herself over and over again but couldn't find an answer, once again. Who am I?

What's my name? My name, what is it? Her voice became hoarse as she screamed at the top of her lungs for someone. Anyone.

"Hello! Someone help me! Help! Get me out of here!" She shouted, her throat was sore and with every word she spoke it felt as if her throat was closing in on itself. She could feel tears well up in her eyes, and she released a dry sob.

Then It was as if something clicked in her head, something snapped. It was like a needle poked something in her memory, in the back of her head.

Aife.

Aife.

My name is Aife.

She gripped the knife tighter and managed to stand up from her knees, only for the elevator to come to a sharp, quickened halt and get slammed back onto the floor with a loud thud.

Everything stopped.

She let out an audible groan and exhaled as she scrunched up her face whilst pushing herself up off of her knees and to her feet. She automatically brought a hand to the back of her head, feeling like as if someone bashed her head into a wall over and over again, most stopping until her skin had begun to peel, and her skull was visible through her thick hair. The obliterating pain was the last thing on her mind, she needed to know where she was. She was desperate.

"Anyone There?!" She shouted one last time. It was clear to her that no one was coming, she wasn't stupid. But she couldn't give up. She didn't want to.

A loud buzzing sound came from around her, the lights that were once red are now green. A loud noise that sounded like chains pulling against each other came emerged, a mechanical noise. Her arm immediately went to cover her eyes as the sun blinded her eyesight. Her face scrunched as she attempted to pull herself out of the elevator and onto the grass.

She laid on her stomach and slowly pushed herself to stand, her mouth agape as she circled around herself to take a look at her surroundings and this new, unknown to her, location.

"What the hell..." She mumbled under her breath. It was empty. Absolutely empty. No one was there to tell her where she was, or how to get out.

Walls surrounded her that looked to be about Four-Miles high and made of concrete. There were four narrowed openings at each one, but it gave her an uneasy feeling.

She let out a deep sigh and shut her eyes as she grew irritated. She mumbled under her breath sarcastically as she gave herself a small tight lipped smile, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.

"Well, shit. Welcome home, I guess."
