"Wake up dummy it's school day."

I slowly open my eyes in the semi dark room. The rising suns light shining through Larry's doors. I look around to see the clock flashing 6:20 am on it. Ughh it's to early for this. Who's idea was it for school to open so early?? Suddenly I sit up realizing what was going on. School....oh god. It's senior year now and I got the first month and a half off for check ups and making sure I'm ready to go. I hated being back at the hospital.

"Larry can I wear your hoodie today?" I ask getting out of bed and stretching. Larry's hoodies always make me feel safe and warm.

"Sure dude. It's in the closet kinda hard to miss considering it's like the only thing I hang up.", Larry nods towards the door as he pulls a plain black t shirt over his head, "Also my mom and me talked to the school officials and we have all our classes together. The doctors also recommended you stay with someone just in case something happens."

In case something happens? Does he mean an episode? Probably, they do get really bad sometimes. I grab the hoodie and put it on over my shirt hugging myself a bit taking in the warmth. I put in a pair of black jeans and get my socks and shoes on. I almost walk out the room when I remember my prosthetic. Shit, I haven't worn it in awhile, this is gonna be an uncomfortable few days. I go back and grab it not putting it on just yet.

"What's for breakfast? I could hear pans banging around earlier." I question as I enter the small kitchen. It was stuffy, I liked it.

"Attempted pancakes but they turned more into squiggly shapes. I really need to practice cooking more." Larry responds pulling the last pancake off the burner. He thinks cooking is like art so he believed he would be a master at it. So far no luck.

"Oh nice do we have syrup? Mostly the strawberry kind?", I looked around the cabinet's until I found the mostly empty bottle of strawberry syrup.

"How many squiggles you want blue?" Larry asks getting down plates from the top shelf.

"Umm maybe four? No I want three." I reassured myself. I didn't want my jaw to hurt that much. I've been eating food again for a while but sometimes my jaw cramps and it just hurts.

"Are you sure? You can have four if tha-"

"I would like three." I interrupted him. He seemed to understand why I didn't want anymore and put three squiggles on my plate. He handed me my plate and I poured the rest of the syrup on my pancakes then began eating with Larry.

"Shit dude we gotta go soon. It's almost 7 bus is gonna be here soon.",Quickly we finish what was left on our plates and went to brush our teeth and hair, "Can I braid your hair blue?"

I look at him. Braid? Since when did Larry acquire those skills? Was some girl teaching him? Stop it no stop. Maybe Ash or Lisa taught him. Calm down Sal no need to panic before the day even starts.

"Uh sure but let me brush it first." I brush my hair quickly and get the knots out before turning around and letting Larry braid my hair. His fingers tickle my scalp as he downs the braid from the top of my head all the way down, "Where did you learn to braid? Did Ash teach you?"

"No actually I taught myself when I was younger. All the girls in my school would always ask me to do their hair so I kinda taught myself so I could help them out." Larry laughed a bit at the memory. God I loved his laugh it always makes me feel happy inside.

"Come on Lar Bear we gotta catch the bus." I didn't want to show it but I am so fucking nervous. I really hope I can get through this day without anything bad. I mean Travis and me are friends so that stops the bullying, by his at least. How are other kids gonna act? Does everyone know? Oh god breathe Sal breathe you got this. I smile at Larry before putting my prosthetic on and grabbing his hand. I hope he can't feel my trembling.
