"Listen, I am so sorry for saying what I said the other day. Anyone would be lucky to date you Mads." Fred and I were finally ending our couple days of silence.
"It's okay Fred! You were right! I was jealous and I've just been feeling extra on edge lately." I say and he pulls me into a hug.
"Ahhh, Madeline! Great to have you back buddy." He tickles my sides and I slap his shoulders.
"Yeah, you too." I say when I get out of his grip.
I was still irritated by how much he was flirting with Maxine and Angelina and other girls but I wasn't about to confront him about that.
We were walking down the hall with George and Lee and Fred winked at Maxine as he walked by, causing her to giggle with her friends. I rolled my eyes and noticed Cedric walking our way.
"You know what house is under appreciated?" I ask and Fred looks down at me, "Who?"
"Hufflepuff." I tuck my hair behind my ear and keep my eyes on Cedric as he walks by. The boys watch him too and they all look at me.
"Mads, are you crushing on Diggory?" Lee looks at me with a smirk and I look at him with a shrug.
"No, of course not." I say.
"Then what the hell was that all about?" Fred nudges me, a look of disapproval on his face. He was still looking down the hall where Cedric was walking and I felt satisfaction rise within me.
Maybe I'm absolutely bonkers, but I could swear he was jealous.
"What does it matter Fred?" I shake my head and keep walking.
The boys walk fast to keep up with me and Fred continues to argue, "Don't play dumb. I saw you throwing yourself at him the other day!" He exclaims and I shake my head.
"You're one to talk Weasley! Throwing yourself at any female you see!" I was starting to get annoyed with his sudden concern in my endeavors, even though this is exactly what I wanted him to do.
"Guys, you just made up! Please don't fight!" George begged and Fred ignored him.
"Well, don't pretend that you haven't been making subtle remarks about him the last couple of days." Fred's jaw was clenched as he looked around.
Was he seriously mad that I could possibly like Cedric?
"What? Cedric is a great guy!" I rebuttal and Fred just scoffs at me.
"I don't know why you even care Weasley. Aren't you occupied with all the girls who you haven't bothered to actually go out with?"
Fred stops suddenly and the three of us turn around.
"Are we seriously doing this again? Jesus Christ, Madeline! What the hell is your problem?" He shouts.
People around look at us and I'm surprised at his anger.
I hated being the one on the other end of his anger but I wasn't going to give up.
"I'm just saying, after constantly talking about all the attention you're getting, you haven't actually bothered to ask any of these girls out." I state and he rolls his eyes.
"You've been constantly bitching about it whenever I talk about any other girl and it's getting really annoying! Can't you just let me have a bit of fun?" He throws his hands up and now quite a few first years were watching.
I take a step closer to him, taunting him a little bit more.
"Can't you let me have a bit of fun?" I mutter and just then, Angelina Johnson walks past us.
