Chapter 29 : Back To Work

"What is it?" Rin slapped her hand over her notebook where she had a photo of her and Bazz B stuck on it. She looked up to see Jugo peering down a her, a smile on his face "You have something to tell me?"

"I saw it" He pointed out "You seem to be closer to him" He sat down on the chair on the opposite side of her desk

"I guess so" Bazz B had left early in the morning, not waking Rin up and telling her that he's leaving. Rin didn't mind that he didn't tell her where he's headed off too because she knew that everything that he does, she didn't want to question him about it. Jugo leaned against her desk on his arms "I came in to say that we're having our little annual company dinner together with our other two sister shops this Saturday. It's normally held by James but since he's not here, are you getting to it?"

Rin dug through her files that was inside of the drawer beneath, smiling at Jugo as she handed it over to him "I already made the reservations yesterday morning. I've sent everyone messages too to inform them about it"

"Wow, efficient now are we?" Jugo leaned back against his chair "Do you know when James will be back though?"

She shrugged her shoulders "I'm not sure because he didn't say anything about it but I met his wife two days ago and she said he's hopefully coming back this month"

Jugo raised an eyebrow "Hopefully? This month? Hell, it's the last week of the month and there's still no sign of him yet?"

"Why? Do you miss him?" Rin was smiling a little

He shook his head, handing her back the file "How long had you been friends together with James?"

"About twenty years. He was older than me, we never played much but during high school, he was stuck a year ahead of me so he looked out for me and we gradually became best friends" She placed the file back inside of her drawer, pushing it back, shutting it.

"Do you think you know him well? Better than almost everyone?"

Rin shook her head "I might be one of his best friends but I don't delve any further into the things that he does or his family business"

Jugo hesitated for a moment "Did he tell you where he went for these past months?"

"No"

It explained almost everything then and there as Jugo nodded his head tightly at her "I'll get going now anyways. Is Bazz B coming today?"

Rin glanced down at her phone which had stayed silent for the entire morning before looking back up at Jugo, shaking her head "I'm not sure actually but do you want me to call him for you?"

"Nah, he's probably busy with something" Jugo left her office, shutting the door softly behind of him as he went back to work

Rin watched him for a moment before she picked her phone up, the picture of Bazz B's kitty face flashing in her face as she unlocked her phone, thumbing in her password into it and sliding her finger across of the screen. She glanced down at the only message that she had received from an unknown number. She didn't know whose number it was or why it had sent a text message to her but it was just a whole bunch of jumbled up words that she couldn't seem to figure out.

Turning her phone off, she set it back down on her desk before walking out from her office, opting to spend the day outside to help them out with anything but it wasn't like they would ask her to do anything because she was inexperienced but she still tried, striking conversations together with Jugo, Toto and Francis and completely staying out of Don's sight.

Rin's hand dropped from his chest, sliding slowly down from his torso as she tugged at his belt "It was one meter apart, Bazz"
