He didn't know what sort of date to take you on, or what you liked, a fancy restaurant? bowling? Mini golf?, he honestly had no clue and after much debate, he ended up settling for a simple movie night at his apartment because, who doesn't love a film night right? He made his, quite large, living room cozy, decorating the sofa with multiple blankets, placing a range of candles on all the tables and changing the LED strip lights to a warm, orangery tone and dimming them to set the mood, it really did look amazing. Mason couldn't cook to save his life, so he ordered a pizza, (your fav), keeping it proper simple and bought a shit load of popcorn to go with a few bottles of wine, he just prayed you would like the effort he made, even though it wasn't that spectacular for a first date. The doorbell rang and he rushed to answer it and as he opened the door, there you stood, wearing a basic pair of jeans and a jumper, wrapped in a puffy coat and scarf with your white Air Force 1s, a classic winter outfit, and your hair in a "messy bun" as you wore a natural sort of makeup look, not wanting to go overboard, after all it was just a film night. "Wo-wow you look absolutely gorgeous" he spoke, stunned, as you blushed and he moved aside to let you in, you replying with a "thank you, not so bad yourself" as you both laughed, but by god was he looking good that night, wearing a white T-shirt that showed the shadow of his abs perfectly and some grey joggers that clung to his muscly legs and something else which, well if you know you know 👀. "What's you've been cooking then, smells lu-" you said, stepping into the sitting room, a huge smile forming on your face, admiring the view of all the lights and cushions and everything, that lad everyone, was husband material, of course you knew that from the moment you set eyes on him but this, this was amazing, all the trouble he'd gone to for you. You weren't a one for going out to a fancy event or splashing the cash on a night out, you'd much rather preferred a quiet night in, snuggled up on the couch with an assortment of drinks and snacks, watching the telly, so really, you couldn't have asked for a better first date. "Oh I ordered pizza, I can't cook, last time I tried I managed to somehow burn beans" he laughed, kind of embarrassed, "I mean I can cook the basics but that's about it, you start asking me to make carbonara, I'll have no clue where to begin" you said, laughing, sitting down in between the pile of blankets as Mace poured you a large glass of red before joining you on the sofa. You both got comfy under the mountains of throws and turned on "the conjuring" as you loved a good horror, even though you basically shat every time you watched one, but Mason was there, a protective arm looped around you, pulling you close as you head rested on his chest and he stroked your hair. By the end of the film, you were both traumatised, you had lost count of how many times the two of you screamed or jumped out your seat, the popcorn going everywhere and when you nearly spilled your wine like 5 times, but you couldn't have had wished for a better night, you and him sat, together, no one else about, just you two enjoying each other's company, "Here's to a perfect night" he said, raising his glass, "Cheers to the best date night I've had in a long time" you replied before sitting back down, Mason once again wrapping his arms around you as you nestled your head in the crook of his neck before drifting off to sleep in his arms, you couldn't wait for date number two...
