You'd known each other for around a year, ever since he got the move to Chelsea and had to come live in the city of Lodnon, obviously none of his family lived in England, or anywhere close, so when you met him, he was just a lost soul, alone in an unfamiliar place, who just happened to be a premier league footballer...and later became your best friend.
Your story began when you were strolling through the streets of Piccadilly on a late Tuesday night, on your way home from a long day's work, coffee in one hand, phone in the other which your eyes were glued to, when you felt someone else's weight bump into you, wiping you clean off your feet, your drink flying god knows where, your phone clattering the stony pavement and your arse smacking the ground with a loud thud. You immediately felt a shadow standing over you and before you knew it, someone had a light grip on your waist, pulling you to your feet, helping you get your balance again before backing away. You stared at the figure infront of you, thinking you'd seen him before, he seemed so recognisable but you couldn't quite put your finger on it, until it clicked, he was the new fella your brother and his mates were talking about, apparently he was a big deal around there now, you didn't really watch football so you didn't understand just "how big"he really was. He started by offering you a new coffee to replace the one "he spilt", but it was completely your fault not watching where you were going, but anyways, he then went on to tell you about how he was new to the place and had no idea what he was doing or where he was going which made you feel a bit sorry for him, you'd always had a kind heart, and so you both did a deal that if he got you a new drink, you'd give him a tour around the city...and that's where the two of you started, you went from strangers who met on a street, to the closest friends who spent practically everyday together, going to all his matches, having random movie nights at his flat, going for days out (that were more like dates if were being honest), but your were friends and only friends...
...and this leads us to now, a whole year later, the two of you sat in his apartment in a rather awkward silence not knowing what to say, usually you'd be full of convo but today you were both acting slightly shifty and you both hinted at the reason why. A good friend of his, Mason, had recently told you both, on separate occasions, that you liked each other...more than friends, and you couldn't deny it, since the moment you layed eyes on one another, yous were inlove, but too scared to say something, with you not wanting to ruin the most perfect friendship you had and him just afraid of getting rejected, but the more you thought of what it would be like as lovers, the more you wanted it. You'd been taken back into reality after being zoned out in your own little world, by him clearing his throat before taking your hands in his and letting out a deep sigh, wondering if he was gonna regret what he was about to say. "Y/N, I like you, like like you, ever since the night we met, ever since I locked eyes with you, I've wanted this...I've wanted an us...and I think you have too, he said, his accent taking over your brain, god how you loved his voice, as you sat gazing at him, stumbling over what to say, I mean he hit the nail on the head with his words, you did want a relationship, more than friends, more than best friends, you wanted to be a couple in a loving relationship so you simply replied with a "you're right" before smashing your lips against his climbing on his lap, grippping his neck for support as he deepened the kiss, it was slow, it was passionate, it was perfect and it was something you had waited a whole year to do...well I guess you both had the answer you'd been waiting for, you were never just friends...
