The rest of the day was mundane at best for both Shiro and Kai. Shiro looked over the paper with the address multiple times and discovered Kai's phone number on the back. Shiro put their number quickly into his contact list and shot a text at it so Kai could have his number as well. Shiro sent 'Hey it's Shiro, from bio'. a few minuets later Kai responded 'Heya you have the right number. I don't have anything going on tonight so come over whenever. Just text before. I'll make some food for you if you want. How's frozen pizza?' Shiro was surprised by the fast response and quickly sent 'Yes pizza is good. I'll cya then'. Shortly after Kai sent a thumbs up emote.

A couple hours after school let out Shiro decided he should probably head over to Kai's. Shiro glanced at his mom in the Kitchen. "Hey mom, I need to work on a biology project with a kid from school at their house. I'll be back later." His mom acknowledged him and waved him out. Shiro hopped on his bike and sent a text to Kai letting them know he was on his way. Kai's house sat on a corner of a small neighborhood and looked like it was one story from the outside. To the left of the front door there was a large bay window with thick black curtains with a small window box hanging from it empty. To the right of the door was a much smaller window with a screen. The curtain was a lot thinner and Shiro could see a silhouette behind it. Shiro recognized it as Kai and walked up to the door and knocked. A few seconds later Kai opened the door and let him in. The entry way of the home felt welcoming. Kai looked up to Shiro, "Could you, uh, leave your shoes here?" They pointed at a small row of shoes next to the doormat. Shiro apologized and left his shoes there. Kai led Shiro into the living room decorated with various famous photographs, some printed on glass and a few printed onto a canvass material. Shiro stood in front of a photo of a sailor kissing his wife in a crowded street. "I think I've seen this before.." Shiro scratched his chin. Kai looked up to see what he was talking about. "I don't doubt it. A lot of these have been in NATGEO or Time." Kai walked into the kitchen and pulled out a pizza from the oven. Shiro took in all of the photos on the wall. None were in color. "What's with all the photos?" Shiro asked turning around to look at Kai. Kai looked at the photos. "I like photography.. a lot." Kai began cutting the pizza. Shiro looked at another photo of a mother with two children at her shoulder looking away from the camera. "Where did you get these?" Shiro looked back at Kai. Kai shrugged, "The camera store I work at. I get good employee discounts there." Kai finished cutting the pizza and put a few slices on a plate for Shiro. Shiro saw the pizza and sat down at the dining table. The dining room, living room, and kitchen were practically the same room. Shiro sat down across from Kai and took a bite. "So how long do we have to finish this project?" Shiro said between bites. Kai looked at the instruction paper the teacher handed out. "Two weeks, it looks like. We have to include a hand drawn diagram of our project, so I guess the anatomy of one of us, a two page essay, and something to present to the class, damn, glad we have two weeks." Kai took a bite of pizza and slid the sheet to Shiro so he could read it. Shiro looked up at Kai, "Who's body are we using as a diagram?" Kai laughed. "I guess mine if you want. Give some people some answers.." Kai looked down on their own body. Shiro thought of what Tommy was saying and shook it out of his head. Shiro and Kai planned their project for an hour or so and got a good idea for their project. Shiro stood up, "Where's your bathroom at?" Kai smiled and pointed at a hallway, "Second door on the left." Kai went back to writing a small rough draft of the essay. Shiro walked down into the bathroom. It smelled like soft lavender. Shiro noticed some clothes on the floor next to a laundry basket. A bra and a baggy hoodie. Shiro couldn't help but focus on the bra, he felt his face get hot and imagined the bra in his hands and Kai's bare back. Shiro slapped himself lightly, "Stop." He said to himself in the mirror. Shiro flushed the toilet and washed up and went back into the living room. Kai was now sprawled out on the floor.. "How's this?" Kai looked up to Shiro handing him the rough draft. Shiro skimmed it and nodded. "I think its good so far." Shiro sat down in front of Kai. "I'm surprised they gave us this long now that we are actually working on it." Shiro said looking down at Kai. Kai looked up. "Well she probably didn't expect people to actually be working on it this long." Kai looked up at the clock. It read 7:22pm. "What time do you need to be home, Shiro?" For some reason when their eyes met this time the energy in the room felt different. Both of their hearts beat a little bit faster. Shiro blinked, "Uh, maybe now, yea I should go." Shiro stumbled out of the door nearly forgetting his shoes. "Uh ok.." Kai still stared at the door until Shiro was long gone. "See you tomorrow." Kai said.
