Kai said goodnight to Shiro and closed the door to their bedroom, Kai looked at their bed and took off their clothes and put them by the bedroom door to put in the hamper tomorrow. Kai slipped into bed and laid down staring at the window at the darkness and the shadows of the trees. Kai pulled the blanket passed their breasts remembering what Tommy was saying. 'I should get some curtains..' Kai thought. Kai heard Shiro turning off the lights and get back on the couch. 'I hope he sleeps well.' Kai looked at the bedroom door. Kai heard Shiro whispering to himself but couldn't make out what he was saying shortly after Kai closed their eyes and quickly fell asleep.

Shiro awoke to the strong smell of coffee. Kai's ears perked up and they turned around. "Oh! Good morning Shiro." Shiro blushed and smiled, running his fingers through his thick fur. Kai turned back around to the eggs on the stove. "Did you sleep well?" Kai asked. Shiro nodded, "This is a really comfy couch.". Kai laughed, "Yea it was my parents, they left it for me.". Shiro sat up stretching and groaning. "Where are your parents? You mentioned living alone and.." Kai cut him off, "Later.. Do you like eggs? and how do you like your coffee?" Shiro walked over to the kitchen entry way, "I love eggs, and I like my coffee with some cream and sugar please." Kai nodded, "Good, you make it easy." Shiro sat back down on the couch and looked at the clock, "Bro it's 6am?! you get up early.. and I'm not even tired like usual." Shiro looked confusedly at his paws. Kai grinned, "I'm a morning shower person. Plus I like making breakfast and taking time to eat it." At that moment Kai stepped out of the Kitchen to give Shiro his food and Shiro saw Kai was only in a long shirt and underwear. He quickly blushed. Kai put their hands on their hips. "Oh come on, you don't have to be embarrassed, I'm not used to people being here, and  this is comfortable." Shiro didn't say anything and blushed even more. Kai laughed. "Well eat up." Kai walked back to the kitchen to get their plate and sat on the couch next to Shiro. Shiro tried not to look at Kai. Shiro took a nervous looking bite of the eggs and immediately took several more, "This is really good dude!" Shiro looked over at Kai forgetting their attire. Shiro looked away quickly. "Well thank you." Kai smiled. Shiro looked at Kai from the corner of his eye. "Why are you so.. comfortable.. with me?". Kai laughed quietly and scooted a little closer to Shiro. "Well I really trust you. Plus I can tell how nice and genuine you are. I know we literally met three days ago but like, I feel like I've known you for years." Shiro smiled and small drops of tears formed in his eyes. "Awww dude come here." Kai leaned in and hugged Shiro. Shiro wrapped his arms around Kai. Kai discovered Shiro was a lot stronger than they thought. Kai pushed back lightly. "I should take a shower. Enjoy your breakfast." Kai smiled and put their dishes in the sink. Shiro watched Kai carry some laundry into the bathroom. Kai accidentally dropped a shirt and bent down to pick it up. Shiro caught a small glance of Kai's breast through the neck in their baggy shirt and quickly looked away.

Kai showered and walked out with a towel wrapped around seeing Shiro washing the dishes. "Aw dude, you didn't have to do that." Kai gripped the towel. Shiro glanced over and just pretended not to think about that Kai was basically naked. "Oh uh yea, I thought if I stayed the night and eat your food I may as well clean up a little. Kai looked at the couch seeing the blankets folded up. "Thank you man!" Kai smiled. Shiro focused on the now empty sink "You're welcome.".  With that Kai nodded and closed their bedroom door to get dressed.

Kai walked out of their room with their backpack strewn on their back. "You ready Shiro?" Shiro got up, "I guess.". Kai looked at him, "We need to stick together... Just in case." Shiro nodded and agreed.

The walk there was quiet and uneventful. When they got to the school and the class Tommy was gone. "Maybe he's late?" Shiro wondered. The class started and he was nowhere. For the next two days Tommy and Rylan were gone. Shiro and Kai never mentioned the events after and were able to rest easy. Every evening Shiro went to Kai's house for dinner and to work on the assignment making fantastic progress. Finishing the essay and adding the finishing touches on the diagram.

On Friday Shiro added the last label to the diagram and looked up at Kai, "What are you doing this weekend?" Kai looked over, "Oh nothing really, probably go see my grandparents. Why do you ask?". Shiro looked back at the anatomy diagram of Kai, "Do you want to hang out, like just go to a park or something? Or see a movie?" Shiro looked back at Kai. Kai smiled, "Sure.". Shiro smiled, "Great!"
