Before Shiro could properly react to the note he heard Kai frantically moving around and cruising in the bedroom. The door flung open and an orange blur flew to the bathroom. "Don't look I'm naked!" Kai yelled as they slammed the bathroom door. Shiro heard the shower turn on. Shiro knocked on the door "Is everything ok?". Kai popped their head out of the shower "Apparently I need to go to work!" They went back to cleaning themselves. Shiro looked at the note "I thought you said you were free all weekend?". Kai sounded frustrated "I was but fuckin Marc got sick, and now I gotta go in!" Kai turned the shower off and stormed out wrapped in a towel. They stomped into the bedroom and closed the door. After a few minuets Kai walked out in a red and green uniform with "Pizza Tipi" over the chest "I'll be back in the evening. I don't mind if you stay. Just don't make a mess. I'm sorry." Kai walked to the door and grabbed a hoodie from a hook. "Wait!" Shiro called a little too loud "There was another note left at the door." Shiro held up the note and seemed out of breath from trying to keep up with Kai. "Shit..." Kai looked at the crumpled paper in his hand "I still need to go in though.. I don't want to get fired.". Shiro thought for a moment "I think I should stay here to make sure he doesn't come back.". Kai looked close to tears "Ok, thank you.. and I'm sorry about last night. I don't know what got into me and I was admittedly... horny. I'm sorry again, I'll keep my clothes on." With that they closed the door and left before Shiro could say anything.
The outdoor air was bitter and cold unlike the day before. Kai pushed their arms close to their chest to keep warm. They didn't tell Shiro that they had to walk to work. It was only about a twenty minute walk but Kai was scared of getting caught alone with Tommy. Kai didn't want to think what he would do to them without Shiro around. A twig snapped behind Kai and they whirled around quickly. Behind Kai was a young wolf probably 4 to 5 years old "Hai!" the wolf said cheerfully. Out of breath from the surprise Kai responded "Heya..". The rest of the walk was quiet and uneventful.
Kai approached the warm and inviting doors of the Pizza Tipi, there weren't a lot of cars out front, so Kai exhaled in relief of a hopefully easy day where they could close early. As soon as Kai walked in and the bells above the door tinkled Kai's boss walked out. The large ox was in his 40's but acted like a teenager. Kai though it was funny. "Heyyyy how's my favorite fox doin?!" he walked up to Kai and shook their shoulders. "Hey Mr. P, I'm doin fine." Kai laughed relived of their scared mood. Mr. P acted like he just remembered something "Hey, you go to Crestview right? Do you know anything about that Tommy character?". Kai shook their head "He's in my biology class. That's all I know. I saw the news last night.. scary stuff." Kai didn't want to scare their boss by telling him their circumstances so Kai left it at that. Kai started walking to the kitchen when Mr. P called them over again "Hey can you do deliveries today? I have Bobby in the kitchen if that's ok?". Kai didn't like doing deliveries but it would probably take their mind off of Tommy more than just the kitchen. Bobby hollered from the kitchen for Kai. Bobby was a little taller than Kai but not by much, his apron was already covered in grease. His hyena fur wet with sweat from the hot oven. He turned to Kai "I got a few orders done if you want to run them out. You got here just in time or Mr. P would've had to go out and deliver em." He gave a grin "I bet a few of these go to hot guys.. or girls.. I don't judge. If you get one of those girls who flash their tits make sure to snap a pic!" He gave a loud hyena laugh and handed Kai a few pizzas and that satchel that keeps them warm. Kai laughed with him "I'll be sure to do that Bob." Kai smiled to themselves as they walked put the back to the delivery car.
The car was on it's last legs and painted the ugly red/green combo of the brand's colors. Kai opened the driver's side door and slid in. When the car shuddered to life the radio started blaring some generic boring pop band. Kai quickly set the dial to something more their speed. Kai pulled out and looked at their first address and put it in the GPS. It showed it was about half a mile from their home. The drive was nice and the music made Kai happy. Once they pulled up to the house a different song was playing. They walked up the steps to the door and a tired female elk answered the door. She was cradling an adorable baby in her hands. Kai looked at the receipt "One medium supreme for Edna?" the elk nodded and walked back into her home and retrieved her wallet and handed Kai some cash. She took the pizza from Kai "Keep the change." She muttered and closed the door. Kai looked at the money in their hand. It was way more than enough for five pizzas when she just had one. Kai assumed it was an accident and left most of the extra money in her mailbox.
The drive to the next house was uneventful. When Kai pulled up to it, the yard was trashed, it looked like a frat party had just taken place. Kai didn't really care as long as they were paying. Walking towards the house it looked uncared for and old. The steps were cracked and caked in dirt and the siding was falling apart. One of the windows was even boarded up. They walked up the steps and as they were about to knock on the door it swung open. A female red panda no older than Kai pushed by. Her make-up was smudged and her lipstick was mostly rubbed off "Don't worry I was just leaving!". She pushed past Kai and pulled up their thin yoga pants making her butt look bigger than it was. "Hey wait!" a familiar voice came from the house. Kai's heart sank, it was Tommy's voice. Before Kai could react Tommy pushed past them still putting his pants on. He nearly tripped and fell pulling them over his ripped boxers. "Ericka wait! It was a one time thing!" Ericka turned around "One time thing?! It shoulda been a none time thing!". She wiped her hair back and kept walking. Tommy finally got his pants on and caught up to her. By then they were out of earshot. Kai peaked through the door and saw Rylan putting his letterman jacket back on and straightening his pants. He didn't notice Kai. Kai turned and saw Tommy coming back towards the house. He saw the Pizza Tipi car and yelled "Oh fuckin finally the pizza!" he started walking faster, Kai didn't know what to do. "Sorry for keepin you waiting. This dumb bitch Ericka got the wrong idea and-" Tommy realized it was Kai "Hey you!" Tommy began sprinting. Kai booked it for the car and dove in and pressed the lock just in time for Tommy to bang on the window. He smiled and tapped on the glass "Step out of the car please, you don't have your boyfriend to save you now. What are you gonna do?". Kai decided to stand their ground "He's not my boyfriend!" Kai shouted so he could hear. Tommy laughed "Right, and I didn't just double team that whore back there." He laughed and noticed something on the ground, he picked up the satchel that Kai had the pizzas in. He shook it against the window "Need this?" Kai's heartbeat raced. Kai forced the car in drive and sped off. In the rearview he watched Tommy wave and open a pizza box and take a slice.
Kai drove all the way back to the Pizza Tipi with tears in their eyes. It begun to rain adding to the cold miserable weather. Kai pulled into the designated parking spot and ran inside. Mr. P was standing behind the register and immediately saw Kai's expression "Woah champ, what happened?" Kai was out of breath and couldn't say anything. Mr. P rubbed their back "Don't worry Kai you're safe." Kai wasn't sure what to tell Mr. P or if they should. They didn't want to put him in danger. Kai exhaled and looked up at Mr. P "One of the deliveries was at Tommy Holle's house. He tried to attack me but I got in the car in time. I dropped the satchel on accident and it had the last order of the rout in it, I'm sorry Mr. P, you can take it out of my paycheck." Mr. P looked confused "What nonono it's ok. The satchel and pizzas are the last of my worries. What was Tommy's address? Do you still have it? We can send the police over to it." Kai patted their pockets "Yea, here's the note. It's the second one.". By this time Bobby had come out of the kitchen to see the commotion "Oh getting flashed isn't that bad!" Mr. P turned and stared at him with fury "Go back to work Bobby.". Bobby threw his hands up in surrender and vanished into the kitchen. Mr. P put his focus back on Kai "You can have the rest of today off, I'll do the rest of deliveries.". Kai shook his head "No Mr. P I can-". Mr. P put his hand on their shoulder "Take. The. Rest. Of. The. Day. Off.". Kai nodded "I didn't drive here, I don't want to walk home alone. Can you drop me off while you do deliveries?". Mr. P smiled "Of course."
The drive was quiet. Mr. P tuned the radio to jazz and Kai realized they sorta liked jazz. Mr. P pulled into Kai's driveway, as Kai thanked Mr. P, Shiro looked through the curtain. "Who's that?" Mr. P asked. "Oh just a friend." Kai reassured him. Mr. P winked at Kai and nudged Kai with his elbow. "Oh no not like that!". Mr. P raised his eyebrows and backed out of the driveway waving. Kai walked up to the front door and Shiro opened it for them, he looked concerned. "Is everything ok?" He asked. Kai couldn't move, their eyes flooded with tears and they dove into Shiro's arms. Shiro petted the top of their head and pulled them inside "It's ok.. It's ok..."
