I Promise I'm Staying *COMPLETE*

In Amity's head

*WARNING: Angst, Flashbacks in italics*

Amity's POV

Gus and I walked to the palace in silent. I couldn't speak. There wasn't a reason to speak. I didn't even dare to open my mouth because if I did I knew I would just completely combust.

Five years..

We threw away five years over some stupid distance. I know shouldn't have been so hard on her but she was hard on me! So I have a reason to be mad...right?

"Amity, c'mon..You're one of my best friends and I'm really worried about you." I heard Gus tell me. I looked up at him to open my mouth only to quickly shut it. I heard Gus sigh in sympathy, "Do you..Do you want me to talk about something else?"

I hugged myself as I nodded, looking away from him. "Well, I figured out that there's moving metal! Yeah! There's these things called a blender, a-and a washer and even a dryer! Can you believe that! Justin took me to this store that has them..A store!" Gus said excitedly, making me giggle a bit.

I turned to him and he smiled. "..I know it's none of my business and you can shout at me all you want after I say this but..Luz loves you a lot. I seriously doubt that she even wanted to have this break.."

I spoke a bit, tears threatening to fall, "Y-You didn't even hear what she said.."

Normal POV

"You...You can't be serious."

Amity turned to Luz as she crossed her arms, "I'm being serious, Luz..I just don't know what else to do. Neither of us wants to leave..So.." She looked down and put her hands down, "..I don't think we should keep hurting ourselves like this.."

Luz looked at Amity in shock and hurt. She doesn't want this..And she knows neither does Amity. She opened her mouth to say something, but didn't let what she was thinking out.

Luz looked at her shoes, "If...If that's what you want..Then..You're right."

'Don't go! I can't let you go! I love you!' Is what went inside the latina's head. "I guess...I guess we weren't made for each other..like-like that."

Amity hugged herself, "I-I guess you're right...Could..could you just walk me back to the door?" Luz nodded, "I'll text Justin.."

The walk was short..But it felt hours long. The two didn't speak, let alone look at each other..

...It was..heartbreaking.

"Hey you two! Finally you love birds caught up!" Justin smiled at the girls approaching him and Gus. The two girls looked at each other and then turned away in sadness. Justin looked at them and caught the hint, Gus still processing. "Oh no.." Justin whispered. Gus, finally catching on, looked at them sadly.

"It..It was nice seeing you Justin.." Amity said. She, then, looked at Luz and weakly smiled. Gathering up a little courage, she stood up on her tippy toes and gave Luz a kiss on her cheek and pulled away quick.
