Chapter 25 - Growing Interactions

"Akashi Seijuro, why must you make my life so much more complicated." I deadpanned as my finger hovered over the text message he sent me. More than an hour had passed from when he sent it and I still had not opened the message because of two simple reasons. One, I wanted to read the message when I was alone. Two, heck, this bitch was nervous about what he sent me. Taking in a deep breath and finalizing my resolve, I opened the text message, eyes narrowing as I read it.

'I heard from Atsushi that you are managing a team. Don't make another mistake.'

"Another mistake..." I mumbled, frowning as I thought of a reply. I had never considered myself making a mistake when joining the team. Yes, I was reluctant at first, but these boys were slowly warming up to me. "Besides... I already know that I made a mistake when getting into a fight with you, Sei." I sighed, typing a response.

Groaning, I turn off my phone, not even bothering to reply. I might say something that will cause another fight if I send a response now, I thought to myself, turning to my side and snuggling into my covers. I chuckled slightly, he still is fast at replying to messages. "...At least I talked to him for the first time since we fought..." I just need to take baby steps. Yes, small, small, baby steps.

Kageyama and I walked side by side in silence to the gym. He had his stiff thinking face on, a face he usually had on when thinking about volleyball and ways to improve. Sighing, I knew he would be stuck in thought and not paying attention to the outside world.

"(Y/N)!!!!" Hinata shouted, running up to me with a smiling face which seemed to glow. I clenched my heart, he was too pure and bright for this measly world!

"Hey Shoyo." I smiled, waving to him as he finally reached me. His eyes were sparkling and he was all jumpity. The main reason was probably because the Interhigh Preliminaries were in a week. "You look excited."

"I just can't wait!" He beamed, then turned to Kageyama who was still unaware that the small ball of sunshine was walking with us. "Aren't you excited to Kageyama!"

Silence. Pure silence. Nope, nada, no response.

"KAGEYAMMMMAA!" Hinata screeched, making me cover my ears from his loud shout. The black haired boy beside me flinched in shock, getting out of his thoughts, cautiously looking around for any type of threat. I stifle my laughter, if I laughed now then he would either yell at me or hit my head. As a self proclaimed pacifist who only uses that term when it benefits myself from not getting into violent situations, I prefer neither of those options.

"Hah?" Kageyama blurted out and looked over at me, I pointed at Hinata. He then turned and saw Hinata. The two looked at each other in the eyes for a good solid three seconds before booking it, racing each other to the gym. I sighed before letting my laughter escape me.
