Chapter 49 - Second Year

(Y/N) was now a second year middle school student. Her first year at Teiko seemed to have flown by so quickly. She was now 14 years old and had physically changed.

"Yo Tetsu!" (Y/N) smiled brightly, throwing an arm around his shoulder. "Looks like we're in the same class again this year!"

"Hello (Y/N). I haven't seen you since the beginning of summer. How was your summer vacation?" Kuroko replied, smiling slightly.

"It was good! Ryo and I had some modeling jobs, my family and I went and visited my Gramps, and I was playing sports in my free time," she said and began ranting about things that occurred during her stay at her grandpa's house.

"By the way..." Kuroko spoke up, making (Y/N) stop talking and give him a curious look. "Have you seen the others yet?"

"Nope. I didn't run into the others yet, but we will be seeing them during lunch. I hope we have some classes together with the others," she responded as the two walked to their class. "I haven't had a class with my brother yet, so I'm hoping this year we at least have one together. If not, there's always next year."

"True."

"...Tetsu I didn't want to bring this up, but... Did you get shorter?"

"No, you just got taller (Y/N)."

"Ahahaha I see!"

"Hellooooo everyone!" (Y/N) excitedly greeted, hugging the closest person. Midorima froze at the sudden contact, feeling a mix of disgust and embarrassment. "I missed you Shintaro, my tsundere!"

"I get you're excited but let go of me nanodayo!" he exclaimed. "I'm also not a tsundere!"

"Whatever you say~" (Y/N) replied and complied with his wishes, happily hugging Momoi and Daiki next who accepted her hugs without complaint.

"I want a hug too (N/N)-chin," Murasakibara whined.

"Of course my dear!" she said and jumped into his arms, giving him a hug. "I missed our daily sweet runs!"

"We need to do more of them this year." "Agreed!"

Getting out his arms, she turned to Akashi who chuckled at her sparkling expression. "Alright, you can hug me (Y/N)."

"Yay!" She hugged him for a few seconds before she let go and sat down at the lunch table next to Midorima. "I missed you guys so much!"

"We saw each other during the summer."

"But still!" (Y/N) pouted. "It was still too long!"

The others chuckled at her childish behavior. (Y/N) was honestly a fresh breath of air to them.

"Has anyone seen Tetsu?" Aomine asked and he felt a tap on his shoulder.

"I'm here," Kuroko said, successfully giving everyone but Akashi and (Y/N) a heart attack.

"Gah?! Tetsu! When did you get here?!"

"I was here the whole time," he calmly replied, eating his food. "You just didn't notice me."

"Well next time say something will you!" Aomine retorted and (Y/N) smiled at the interaction.

'I'm glad Tetsu is getting along with everyone and making more friends. Such a difference compared to last year.'

"Man, I can't wait until practice! I wonder if we'll get any new interesting first years."

"Who knows, we'll just have to wait and see."
