"We should probably return to the company before they come looking for us themselves. My nephews wanted to run after you and apologize to you themselves, but they were afraid you would rip their heads off." Thorin said, chuckling slightly and helping me to my feet causing me to smile. "I know the lads were only joking. It just.. Well struck a nerve I suppose. I've never taken that topic lightly." I explained. Thorin nodded, showing he understood. "I myself was about to snap at them, but you seemed to beat me to it." He said. "I think I scared Poor Kili half to death." I said, laughing a little. This caused Thorin to grin. "Aye, And my nephew is not one to get scared easily." He laughed. Soon, we arrived back back to the company, getting a few curious glances. Kili quickly walked up with a guilty look. "Artrain I'm sorry. I didn't-" he began. "It's fine Lad. You were only joking." I said with a smile.
~Time skip~
My soaking hair was plastered to my face. As soon as we left camp it began to rain, much to the company's discomfort. I had decided I would come along on their little quest, it's not like I had anything better to do anyways. Besides, someone had to make sure they made it to Erebore alive. "Here, Mr. Gandalf, can't you do something about this deluge?" Dori asked the Old wizard in an annoyed tone. "It is raining, Master Dwarf, and it will continue to rain until the rain is done. If you wish to change the weather of the world, you should find yourself another wizard." Gandalf replied simply. "Are there any?" Bilbo asked. "what?" Gandalf asked, looking over his shoulder at the Hobbit. "Other wizards?" Bilbo asked. "There are five of us. The greatest of our order is Saruman, the White. Then there are the two Blue Wizards, you know, I've quite forgotten their names." The wizard replied. "And who's the fifth?" Bilbo asked. "Well, that would be Radagast, the Brown." Gandalf said. "Is he a great wizard?? Or is he... More like you?" The hobbit asked, causing Me to laugh.
"I think he's a very great wizard, in his own way. He's a gentle soul who prefers the company of animals to others. He keeps a watchful eye over the vast forest lands to the East, and a good thing too, for always Evil will look to find a foothold in this world." Gandalf replied, looking offended. Bilbo nodded, seeming contempt with the answer.
~yeah another time skip.. Don't hate me XD~
We ended up making camp at a farmhouse that seemed to have been destroyed long ago. "We'll camp here for the night. Fili, Kili, look after the ponies. Make sure you stay with them." Thorin said, knowing his nephews got easily distracted. "A farmer and his family and his family used to live here..." I heard Gandalf mumble. "I think it would be wiser if we kept going. We could make way for the hidden valley." He said. "Gandalf no. I will not go near the elves." I said quickly. I knew fear was shining in my eyes. Thorin nodded in agreement although, he seemed curious as to why the girl did not want to go to the elves. "Why not? The elves could help us. We could get food, rest, and advice." The wizard argued. "I do not need their advice." Thorin said cooly. "We have a map that we cannot read. Lord Elrond could help us."Gandalf said. "Help? A dragon attacks Erebor, what help came from the Elves? Orcs plunder Moria, desecrate our sacred halls, the Elves looked on and did nothing. You ask me to seek out the very people who betrayed my grandfather and betrayed my father." Thorin growled. "You are neither of them. I did not give you that map and key for you to hold on to the past." Gandalf sighed, getting annoyed. "I did not know they were yours to keep." the dwarf stated. Gandalf growls and storms off. "Is everything alright? Gandalf where are you going?" Bilbo asked worriedly. "To seek the company of the only one around here who's got any sense." The old wizard said. "Who's that?" The halfling asked. "Myself, Mr. Baggins! I've had enough of dwarves for one day." Gandalf grumbled. Going out of sight. "Come on Bombur, we're hungry." Thorin barked, as if nothing happened. "Is he coming back?" Bilbo asked, looking up at me. "I'm sure he will." I said reassuringly, but on the inside I was was not as sure as I sounded.
"He's been a long time.." Bilbo mumbled. "Who?" Bofur asked. "Gandalf." The Hobbit replied. "He's a wizard! He does as he chooses. Here, do us a favor take this to the lads." Bofur said, beginning to give the bowls to Bilbo. "Here I'll do it." I offered, taking the bowls from the dwarf. "Oh, well thank you lass." He said. I simply nodded and walked toward Kili and Fili. "Here lads." I mumbled when I reached them. The didn't seem to take much notice to me. Instead, they were staring at the ponies with confusion on their faces. "Kili? Fili?" I asked, catching their attention "what's wrong?" I sighed. "We're supposed to be looking out for the ponies.." Kili began. "Only, we've run into a small problem.." Fili finished. "We had sixteen... And now there's only fourteen.." Kili said. 'Oh joy...' I thought to myself.
