The Eagles had carried the company far away from the Pale orcs pack. I watched helplessly as they gently laid Thorin down on the cold hard stone. Gandalf quickly got off his eagle and rushed to the dwarf kings side. He behind muttering words I could not understand in attempt to heal Thorin's wounds. The company quietly surrounded the two and waited anxiously to see if their beloved leader would wake up. After what felt like forever Thorin let out a gasp and sat up. I looked at him and let out the breath I had no Idea I was holding. Then I stormed over to him with a look of anger on my face. "Artrain what's the..." Thorin began but I cut him off "Don't you ever scare me like that again!" I sighed before crashing my lips onto his. The dwarf stood shocked for a moment before he came to his senses and kissed back. Sparks exploded in my stomach. We both pulled away after a moment. "It's about bloody time!!" I heard one of the dwarves yell causing me to blush. Suddenly I noticed Thorin tense slightly. I followed his gaze to see Bilbo. "You! What on earth were you doing?! You could have gotten yourself killed! Did I not say you wouldn't belong? That you were a burden?" Thorin growled as he towered over the halfling. Then he did something that shocked us all. "I have never been so wrong in my life" Thorin sighed as he hugged Bilbo "forgive me for ever doubting you." He pulled away with a small smile. "No It's fine, I would've doubted me to. I'm not a fighter.. or a burglar." Bilbo said, earning a few chuckles from the dwarves. But the noise suddenly stopped and I looked up to see the dwarves staring at a huge mountain in the distance. "Is that what I think it is??" Bilbo asked with a smile as he turned to look at the mountain. "Yes Bilbo.. It's our home.. The lonely mountain." Thorin said with a smile. Suddenly a bird flew past us. "Look the birds are returning to the mountain!" Oin exclaimed. "That my dear Oin, is a thrush." Gandalf said. "We will take it as a sign. A good omen." Thorin said as he walked over to me and intertwined my fingers with his. I smiled softly at him. "Yes I do believe the worst is behind us." Bilbo said with a grin. But little did he know... The worst was yet to come...
