kehlani's pov:

december 31 2020, new year's eve

chase and i were in his car and we drove a few minutes to my brother's place. everyone was probably still angry at us but i managed to ignore it for now. we arrived and got out the car. the back gate was open so we walked in. our hands were connected and we greeted everyone. chase seemed uneasy but he's probably embarrassed i guess. i had wore a bikini under my clothes so i could go swimming. i use every chance at my brothers, TO SWIM! i grabbed a whiteclaw and chase got one too. we shotgunned them and raced to the grass. we pulled off the clothes above our swimsuits. we held hands again and jumped in the pool together. kio had walked out with vinnie behind him. "hey! come here." i waved my brother and best friend over. i had my arms around chase's neck and we just talked. i had everyone apologize to each other. the two eventually went in the pool too. nailea came along and jumped in. we played a game of chicken. i was on chase's shoulders and nailea on vinnie's. i won of course.

"let's get out and get some more to drink, baby." chase told me, holding his hand out to pull me out. we walked in the house and we ate some food. i left for a moment to get a few more drinks for chase and i. we chugged them and talked about our new years resolutions. "i feel faint, i'm gonna go in my brother's room. call me when it's almost time!" i slurred out. i wobbled over to kio's room and plopped on his bed. i dozed off and woke up 30 minutes later to a loud thud and people yelling. i ran out to see vinnie, chase, and kio all on the cement, groaning in pain. "nai, did they fight again?" i asked in an annoyed tone. she shook her head and pointed at the skateboards. "they tried doing some new tricks, girl." she explained to me. i pulled all of them up and brought them inside to treat them.

i grabbed the first aid and a few ice packs. i took care of chase first and vinnie last. chase had an ice pack on his knee and head. kio had one to his side and a few bruises on his leg. vinnie got a busted lip and whined about it. he got the least amount of injuries. he's just a baby. i placed them on the couches so they wouldn't miss out on the countdown. it was now 11:50 and i had to take care of these kids. i sat by chase and we waited for the countdown. we watched as the times square ball dropped and it was midnight. i kissed chase and we smiled. i hugged my brother and awkwardly high fived vinnie. "i'm sorry about the other day. i hope you two aren't mad at me." i softly spoke. vinnie shook his head and said his sorry back. "you're my sister. i couldn't possibly stay mad at you for longer than three days. love you sis." kio admitted as he pat my shoulder. i laid back next to chase and we fell asleep.
