Lani's pov:

January 30 2021

It had been maybe only 1 day since I commented on what TTR posted about Vin punching that guy. I was being bugged on my tik tok comment section so I turned them off. I had finally decided to make a video about what had happened. I went into my room and set up.

"Some of you may be wondering why Vinnie punched that guy. You're also probably wondering why am I talking about this? Basically, I was walking back home from my friend's. I was catcalled. I walked over to the guy and slapped him. He had grabbed a hold of me and hit my ass. Mochi had bit him so I walked off. I went into a crowded cafe because I knew this guy wouldn't do anything to me with all those people. I called my brother and Maddy but they both didn't answer. So, I called Vinnie. I told him what happened and he came to where I was. He saw me in the cafe and comforted me. The guy who had hurt me flipped us off and was cursing at us. Vinnie got riled up and left the cafe. He ended up punching this man. I just want to let you guys know, females especially, stay safe when you are out without an adult or someone like that. I am fine but please do not be rude to Vinnie. I didn't want to share this but I also didn't want to watch Vinnie get destroyed for doing a good thing. He was just protecting me. Thank you for watching this and I will be taking a  short break. I love you all." I had finished up and posted it. I made the caption "please stay safe". I decided to take a nap because I was overall exhausted.

2 hours later

I woke up and my phone was blowing up. All of my friends were checking in on me. Nessa, Josh, and Jaden as well. I replied to everyone that had texted or called me. Everyone was making sure I was fine. Most of the check ins were from group chats.

Alex: Hey Lani, we all wanted to check in on you. Are you okay? 3:53pm

Kouvr: Lani we feel so bad that happened to you. If you want, you can always come over. 3:54pm

Thomas: Yeah, you're always welcome here. 3:58pm

Mia: Hey are you good? 4:00pm

Me: Yeah lol I'm alright. Thanks for the check in! 4:19pm

Everyone: Always! 4:24pm

I opened another group chat and it was filled with all of the Sway Boys and their girlfriends.

Blake: Yo what that dude was so out of line. You good? 3:12pm

Amelie: If you'd like, some of us can come over and keep you company. 3:15pm

Nessa: Yeah I hope you're doing okay. 3:17pm

Josh: That guy is one big fucking asshole. You didn't deserve that. 3:18pm

Bryce: Agreed, are you okay? 3:20pm

Addi: I hope you do well. We should just leave her alone and give her time to cope. 3:22pm

Kio: I'm right next to her, she's replying to all of her other friends rn. 3:25pm

Dixie: Well Lani, if you do see this, I hope you are okay! 3:28pm

Noah: You're a strong person, stay that way. We all are glad you're okay. 3:35pm

Jaden: Yeah we hope you feel okay! 3:36pm

Me: Thank you so much for the concern. I love you all! I'm fine, I promise <3. 3:39pm

Everyone: Of course, love you too! 3:41pm

I had finally replied to everyone maybe 20 minutes later and shut my phone off. I took a deep breath and sat beside Kio. "Are you sure that you're fine? Because I can always find that guy and beat him up." Kio asked for reassurance from me and I just gave him a thumbs up. I had the same nightmare but I just learned to ignore it. I was used to it a little. Kio had been leaving his room door open so he could hear if I woke up. He left me alone in the living room with Mochi. I had turned on the TV and watched Bad Boys. Whilst doing so, I went through TTR and saw my video had been uploaded. Everyone was saying how bad they felt for me. I ignored it and continued watching the movie. I got a call from Vinnie so I answered it.

Call with Vinnie:

Vinnie: How are you doing?

Me: I'm fine.

Vinnie: Lani, it's me. Just tell me how you feel. It's okay to be scared about it. This is all very new.

Me: I keep having these nightmares, repeating that same moment. Everyone is talking about it.. it's just all so much.

Vinnie: You didn't have to defend me.

Me: No I know that. I just didn't want to watch them be so mad at you.

Vinnie: I thank you so much for that. But I know you don't like when everyone pities you.

Me: Yeah. It's a good thing though, right?

Vinnie: Of course. You put out an awareness of things like what happened to you. You did a very good thing.

Me: Thanks..

Vinnie: Well, I just wanted to check in. Take a break as long as you need.

Me: Thank you, bye now.

I hung up and hung my head back. Mochi was laying on my lap and I just petted him for a while. I don't like being pitied, but Vin was right. This is a very good thing. At least I would think so. I fell asleep again and the nightmare played again.
