Day 6

Lani's pov:

I woke up to Paper, in a cupid costume, dancing around my bed. He had a toy bow and arrow and shot one at my face. I ran for him around the apartment for like 30 seconds until I grabbed his wings. Thomas, Alex, Michael, Patty, and Calvin were running after us. "Who let you six in? And why the fuck are you here?" I exclaimed, getting up from pinning Paper down. They all looked at one another and shrugged. "What the fuck why did yall just shrug?" I huffed, fixing my hair. "Uh we're a part of the gift. We aren't the gift but we have to sing two songs to you." Alex smiled chessily.

I groaned and motioned for them to start. Michael started playing an instrumental to some song I recognize but can't put my finger on. Paper ran into the line the boys were in and started singing Rollercoaster by Bleachers (play the song above!). Oh god. "Lord, please don't tell me he's having you guys sing the songs. No no no, please no!" I tried to cover Patty's mouth but he licked my hand. I quickly pulled it away and wiped it on his sweater. They sang for until it was done. See, I thought they were done. But Michael played another instrumental. I recognized this one very well. I Feel Good About This is everything I thought about Vinnie and I's relationship. The boys were very off key. They were reading the lyrics off some paper. I heard Mochi barking from Kio's room! I just waited for them to finish because I didn't want to interrupt. "You guys... SUCK at singing. Anyways, what's my gift?" I excitedly asked them. Calvin handed me a little box. After that, they all ran out of the apartment and left.

I don't know why Vinnie gives them these weird instructions. I ignored it and opened the box. It was a ring. There was a note inside that said "I have a matching one. You'll see on Sunday, bubs. I love you. Also, wear everything I got you, for tomorrow. But wear some hightops". The ring was silver and had a star on it and "bright" engraved on it. I chuckled because I remember the meaning behind that. Most of the gifts we've been giving one another, have a meaning. The emerald necklace he gave me, that's the same emerald that was in this old necklace my mom gave me. It broke and he must've given it a new chain and everything. The popcorn machine I gave him, he had a popcorn machine in his room back in Seattle. He was bummed that it stopped working.

Flashback to July 9 2019..

"Happy birthday, Lani. I'm so happy I met you." Vinnie whispered to me. We were lying on the roof watching the stars with Kio and Reggie. I blushed and hugged him. I stood up quickly and grabbed my phone from my hoodie pocket. I started to play Birthday Bitch and danced around whilst they watched. "ONE TIME FOR THE BIRTHDAY BITCH!" I hollered and invited the boys to come and dance with me. I know, this is very dangerous. But hey! I'm the birthday bitch. Vinnie and Reggie stayed down and just hyped me up. But Kio got up and joined me. "The annual dance? God, Mom hated when we did this." Kio exclaimed, dancing with me. I laughed and flopped back down. "I'm sorry but I HAD to do that. I've been doing this with my friends and brother since I was nine." I explained, breathing heavily. Kio sat back down and we looked at the stars.

"Hey, look at that star! That is one hella bright star." Reggie pointing at the night sky. "Damn, you're right. We should name it Bright." I softly spoke, but loud enough for everyone to hear me. It felt quiet but you could hear the cars going by. The sound of tree leaves rustling. I could hear everyone's breathing. I heard the song repeating in my head. "Bright? That's a boring name. But I think it fits the star." Kio laughed, brushing his hand through his hair. We all agreed Bright was a nice name for the star and went with it. We climbed down from the roof and went back inside.

End of flashback..

That night was fun. Probably my favorite birthday. Because Vinnie was there. He feels like my forever..

Vinnie's pov:

I was up at 10am because I had to assist Thomas, Alex, Michael, Patty, Paper, and Calvin with today's plan. They literally couldn't sing for SHIT but that was the whole point. I printed out the lyrics of each song for them. All they had to do was sing, give her the gift, and run out. Easy. They all loaded into their cars and drove off. Kio opened the door for them and then snuck in. Paper was wearing a stupid cupid outfit and had some bows and an arrow. It's a dumb plan but he insisted. Thomas was there mainly to film but I made him sing as well. I waited patiently for them to come back.

Maybe 40 minutes later, they ran into the house. "YOUR GIRL ATTACKED ME." Paper screamed from the front door. I laughed and leaned against a door frame, with my arms crossed. Everyone surrounded me and they told me everything. "Paper, I told you to wake her up by shooting an arrow at leg. Not her face!" I said, trying to act serious. He stood quietly and ran off. I shook my head and chuckled. I walked off and went into my room. I played with Hera for a while and then got a facetime from Lani.

Facetime with Lani:

Me: Hiya, Hera and I miss you

Lani: I miss you guys too.

Me: What did you think of your gift?

Lani: I love it. God, I remember that night like it was yesterday.

Me: Yeah, it was fun. Anyways, tomorrow we are going-

Lani: NOPE! Surprise me, bubs.

Me: If you insist, buttercup. I know you'll love it.

Lani: I know I will. Nothing can ruin tomorrow.

Me: I hope so. I love you.

Lani: I love you more. Well, I gotta go. Your gift comes in like an hour. I think you'll love it.

Me: Okay bubs. Bye bye!

She hung up and I started listening to music. I made a few tik toks and posted them. I fell asleep for about an hour thirty. Patty barged into my room and threw a box at me. As a reflex, I got up quickly. I grabbed the box and it had my name on it. Patty stood at the door for a while but then ran off. I sat on the floor beside my bed and opened it. I stared at the green and black hoodie until I finally grabbed it. It had my name on each sleeve and a skeleton riding a skateboard on the front. "I made this a few months back but never knew when to give it to you. But hey? Why not now.. I love you." I whispered to myself. I took my shirt off and pulled the hoodie over myself. I looked at myself in the mirror and admired it. I texted Lani that I loved it. I then continued to take a picture of me in the hoodie.

Tomorrow, I'm taking Lani to watch the stars at the Hollywood sign. I'll pick up take out from her favorite, the Cheesecake Factory. I pick her up in my car and she'll be wearing everything I got her. She left her board in my room so those will be in my trunk. We'll skate around town but then we get in my car and ride up to the hills. And then- Actually, you'll find out tomorrow.

I really hope nothing goes wrong. I want everything to be perfect. She's who I want to be my forever. Damn, I'm in love.

Yes I know, why are you posting this so early in the day? It's nearly 3am pst for me. I'm up and still got my laptop that's why! Be excited for tomorrow's chapter. You might guess what'll happen and it's kinda basic but ugh, whatever. So, just guess lol pls.
