January 31 2021

Lani and I are talking a little more again. It just feels dry and she probably feels bothered. I woke up at 10am and went into the kitchen. Patty, Michael, and Calvin were the only others awake. I grabbed a red bull from the fridge and drank it little by little. I got a text from Lani. I grabbed my phone from my back pocket and checked it.

Texts with Lani

Lani: Good morning, I just wanted to say thank you for the other day. I feel really bad that I had you get into some trouble for me. 10:13am

Me: Yeah it's not a problem. No one should have touched you like the way that guy did. 10:13am

Lani: Mhm thank you again. It means a lot. Love you bye bye. 10:15am

Me: Love you too see ya. 10:16am

Well, that's a good start. We said I love you. As friends. I closed my phone and grabbed my board. It was still kind of windy but I was absolutely bored. I went out front and skated around the driveway. It wasn't so long until I heard a car pulling up. I looked out the gate and it was Lani. From what I could tell, she was sobbing. I picked my board up and let her in. As soon as she parked, she ran into my arms. I was calming her down because she was hyperventilating. "Hey, hey! Use your words, what happened?" I whispered to her as I held her closely. She was slowly breathing normally again. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes. "I can't sleep and Kio isn't home. Can I stay here for a while?" she asked, wiping her face. I nodded and brought her inside. I know there's way more to why she's crying.

"Woah, hi Lani! What's wrong?" asked Kouvr, who was holding Ollie. She put her puppy down and hugged me. "It's nothing, I just can't sleep and I don't wanna be in my apartment alone." she explained and we walked into the living room. Lani plopped onto one of the bean bags and I sat beside her. I stayed there a while until she fell asleep. Every so often, me or one of my roommates check in on her. We were all worried and tried our best to make her feel safe.

I was outside helping Alex film a bit for his vlog when I heard Lani calling for me. I told Alex that I'll be back in a minute. I looked for Lani and she was in my room crying. "Woah, woah! What's wrong?" I worriedly asked her. She handed me her phone and it was a text from Chase. It read "At least Julia made me happy. You made me so miserable". fucking asshole. I put her phone down and sat down next to her. I just let her cry in my arms until she felt okay. "You're right, Vinnie. He does tend to fucking hurt me. I don't know why I didn't get with you when I had the chance." she muffled into my sleeve. I looked down at her, "There's always going to be a chance. And if you are ever ready again, we can get together. Only if you want. Just know I will always be here. I love you." I kissed her forehead and we just sat there.

She moved herself a few inches away from me, stared, and kissed me. I kissed back and we ended up making out for a few minutes. It honestly felt like it was just us for a while. Until Alex came into my room looking for me. He cleared his throat and waved. Lani and I stopped and glared at him. "Nope? Not the time. Uh okay?" he closed my door and left. We didn't continue to kiss again but she hugged me tightly. "That was quick. So, what are we?" I chuckled and kissed her again. She shrugged and we just sat there on the floor for a little longer. "What do you want us to be?" she asked quietly. I got up and smiled at her. I put my hand out for her and pulled her up. "Whatever you want. I'm down for whatever with you." I told her and just held her. I really must be in love with this girl.

I gave her one last kiss and left to go finish the clip with Alex. When I walked out, he stared at me intensely. "It was just a makeout. She hasn't told me what we are yet. Can we just finish up this bit?" I explained to Alex. He slowly nodded and we finished the bit. As soon as we wrapped up, I went back to my room and found Lani asleep. I chuckled and jumped onto the bed besides her. She wrapped her arms around my side. Hera jumped on top of her and laid there. I made a tik tok of Lani, Hera, and I. I didn't post it but I knew it would build up dust in my drafts. I was just glad to have one good thing for us together. I soon fell asleep whilst watching some tik toks.

3 hours later..

It was almost 3pm. Lani had woken me up by trying to get up. "Hey sleepyhead, sorry to wake you up." she whispered to me. She kissed my cheek and picked up Hera. She pulled the blanket over me and sat on my gaming chair. I got up because I didn't feel tired anymore. She asked if she could play on my PC so I let her.

"Roblox!" she told me. "Hmm? You want to play.. roblox?" I asked her, as I stood in confusion. She nodded and played with Hera. I downloaded it for her and let her play. She asked if I could go get her Monster drink. I left my room to go get one from the fridge. I came into everyone's view and they stared a little. "What did you tell them, Alex?" I asked as I grabbed the drink. I closed the fridge and stood by the counter. He looked bewildered and pointed at himself. "I didn't say anything, why?" he uttered out to me. I looked around the kitchen for someone who might look guilty. I noticed Mia was fidgety and avoiding eye contact. She noticed and gave in. "I knocked on your door earlier to see if you knew where Lani was. I opened it and saw you two. I got excited and told everyone. Sorry!" she confessed briefly. I laughed at the way she got nervous. "I'm not mad. Just keep it in Lani and I's friend circle at least." I walked off and entered my room.

"Sooo, they know. Mia saw us cuddling earlier." I closed the door behind me and handed her the can. "Okay, it doesn't matter. I don't expect them to tell anyone except our friends. Anyways, I got killed like five times by a stupid little kid. I'm mad." she pouted at me and I chuckled. I stood behind the chair and just watched her play. The way she gets so focused. She looks beautiful when she's like this. I kissed her cheek and plopped down onto my bed. I made a tik tok of her playing and posted it. I shut my phone off and just watched Lani. She would curse under her breath everytime something bad happened. "That is it! I quit. These stupid little bitches are on my ass." she yelled at the computer. She turned the PC off and stood up. I was going through my snapchat memories when she came over to me

I found one of Lani and I when she sat down. She rested her chin on my shoulder and smiled at the picture. "Can I post this picture of us?" I turned my head towards her. She nodded and kissed my cheek. I posted it on Instagram.

 I showed it to her and she started laughing. "Man I did NOT miss those nicknames. I like it though." she told me, right before we heard a knock.

I told them to come in. Thomas walked in and asked if we wanted to go with them to go out to eat. We obviously said yes. Lani was in sweats and a hoodie so I lent her my purgatory shirt. All of my pants were way too big for her so she asked Mia for something to borrow. Her fit was just black jeans and the purgatory shirt. I put my black jean jacket over her shoulders and we walked out of my room. We hopped into her car and followed Thomas and Mia in theirs. Alex and Kouvr were behind us.
