Timeskip to when Hunter Exam ends.

"So... it really was Killua then."

You were sitting on a bench with Gon, his hand placed on your shoulder for comfort. You passed the hunter exam, you should be happy. But, you weren't.

"Y/N... I'm really sorry about your past. I know how hard it is for you. But... we have to save him."

"And why is that?"

"He's our friend."

Our friend? You knew Gon always called people friends when he barely even knew them. And right now was a perfect example. Killua had hugged you, had pretended to care. When all he really was was a heartless killer. You remove Gon's hand from your shoulder.

"No Gon, he's your friend. Whoever said I even liked him."

"How could you say that, he saved your life!"

Gon stood up, furrowing his eyebrows.

You sigh.

"He also killed my reason for living."

You stand up calmly and walk away, but you're stopped by a hand holding onto your arm.

"What's going on?"

You turn around and see Kurapika, with Leorio standing behind him.

"It's Nothing."

You remove your arm, starting to walk away when you heard gon talk.

"Killua-"

You turn around and glare at him, hoping he wouldn't say another word.

"Killua killed Y/N's parents."

"I'm sorry for running away back there..."

You continued to stare down at your lap, not wanting to make eye contact.

"It's alright."

Kurapika was the first to speak, and perhaps the only voice you were ok with hearing. You knew how mature and understanding he was, plus he could relate to you. He knew what it was like to have your family and friends slaughtered. Still, it didn't make the pain any better.

"I'm surprised, I didn't see Killua as the type to kill people's parents for no reason... especially that of his friends."

"It wasn't exactly for no reason..."

You slowly raise your head to look at Gon, who nodded to you reassuringly.

"It was years ago, my friends and I were young and had too much time on our hands. We had heard the rumors of how dangerous the Zoldyck mansion was, and we thought if we broke in we'd get some kind of reward or prize. God, we were stupid."

You stopped and looked around at your friends, who were listening patiently. You looked back down at your lap and continued your story.

"At the time, the security wasn't nearly as tight. We managed to get through and explored a little, out of curiosity, I guess. Eventually, we heard kids playing and followed the voices, and we were led to this playground sort of place. There was a little boy with white hair and an even littler girl with black hair. There was a maid, too. The little girl was making requests, and the maid was doing as she asked. Eventually, after 3 requests, the maid got to make a wish. I assumed it was a game, but I kept watching. The maid had wished for millions of dollars, and suddenly, millions of dollars started to fall from the sky. It was amazing, I could barely believe my eyes. I wanted to grab the money, but I was too fascinated by the scene in front of me. Even with all the money, the maid was greedy and did the game again. I mean who wouldn't, she could get anything she wants by just fulfilling simple requests. But this time, the commands were much more... hefty. The girl asked for body parts and even her life. Of course, the maid couldn't fulfill these wishes. On the third request, the maid had... sort of exploded. I learned later, so did every butler in her class. This was a family secret that no one out of the household was supposed to know of. The little girl had the power, to grant wishes. When one of the butlers saw me and my friends, they knew they had to kill us. They sent a little boy to kill each of my friends and their family, until I watched as he slaughtered my parents in front of me... with just one hand. It was the same boy I had seen in the Zoldyck mansion. It was Killua."

You looked up at your friends, seeing their looks of sympathy.

"I'm sorry, that's horrible. I can't believe Killua would do that."

"It's ok, don't be sorry."

You smiled half-heartedly as Kurapika, before almost falling over as Gon threw himself on you in a hug.

"Eurgh- get off of me. I'm fine."

You flicked Gon in the forehead, making him get off and rub his forehead instead.

"Oww..."

"If you don't mind me asking, how did you survive?" (Kurapika)

You paused for a second, "I hid in a closet... he didn't notice me."

You didn't want to tell them what actually happened.

"Hm... fascinating."

You watch as Kurapika elbowed Leorio.

"HEY!" He quickly looks at you and waves his arms. "No! I didn't mean it like that! Your parents' death isn't fascinating, it's just..." He paused, running his hand through his hair. "I'm sure one of your friends tried to hide. How come he didn't find them?"

You shrugged, stirring your tea and looking out the cafe window. "That's a good point."

A waitress comes over and puts the bill on the table, shuffling away.

"I'll pay."

Kurapika takes the bill, and everyone mutters a simple thanks.

"I still think we should save him..." (Gon)

Kurapika nodded in agreement and Leorio made a simple eh motion, which everybody assumed was a yes.

That just left you, you realized. Everybody looked towards you, and you knew what you had to do.

"I'm not saying what he did was ok, but it was a long time ago and he didn't know any better. He was a child, simply obeying his family's orders." (Kurapika)

"I guess..."

You knew that, but you knew how much you loved your parents. How great life was before they died.

"Y/N, will you save Killua with us?"

You looked over to Gon and saw his beady eyes. You didn't even know if you could work up the strength to go to the Zoldyck estate.

"I-"
