You looked out of the train window, resting your chin on your palm.

It was so quiet, like no one was there.

"I don't think I should come..."

You took your hand off your palm and looked at your friends.

"Come on Y/N, we need you."

Gon was asleep, and Leorio was in the bathroom so it was really just you and Kurapika in the compartment.

"If it's not too sensitive for you, what was it like when your clan was killed? How do you deal with it?"

You knew it was a bad question for you to ask, but you had to know. Each day, the loss of your friends and family felt worse and made you want to cry.

He sighed, looking out the window. "It was devastating, but I don't really deal with it. I keep the anger inside me, saving it for when I destroy the phantom troupe."

"I'm sorry about your clan."

"It's not your fault."

Leorio slid the door open to your apartment on the train.

"We're here."

You stood outside the Zoldyck mansion, feeling mixed emotions. The memories came flooding back, and it was hard to continue forward, but you did for your friends. As much as you hated it, you knew it was in the past and that you had to let it go. There were more important things, and right now that was saving Killua. But did you want to?

Timeskip

You'd been training for 20 days, and your body felt painful to move. How were you supposed to open the doors in this condition? You fell onto your bed.

"God... I'm so sore."

You turn over to your side and see gon sitting on your bed, and you jump away out of surprise.

"When did you get here!?"

He cocked his head at you.

"How are you sore?"

You scoffed, "Easy for you to say. You've been lazing around this whole time because of your arm."

You got up from your bed and grabbed a jacket.

"We're gonna try opening the testing gates today, come with us."

Gon nodded happily and skipped after you. When you arrived, you saw Leorio and Kurapika waiting and stretching.

"Sorry we're late."

You made a wave motion with your hand, and the 2 waved back.

"We can do it!"

You looked over at Gon, who was beaming and jumping up and down.

"We? You mean Kurapika Leorio and me, right? You still need to let your arm heal."

You watched as gon sat down, "Yeah, I know..."

You laugh at him and walk to the door with Kurapika and Leorio.

"Ready?"

You nod at Kurapika, and you all begin to push.

It didn't feel any different from when you did it the first day. It felt like pushing against a wall that wouldn't move. In fact, you weren't sure if you got at all stronger from the first day. But you knew you couldn't give up. You continued pushing, seeing how your friends were trying hard and starting to sweat. And that's when the wall moved. It was only an inch, but it clearly moved. You kept pushing, and slowly but surely, it opened more. After a couple of minutes, you could see a ray of light shining through the door.

But you were so tired, as were your friends. You knew you wouldn't be able to open all the way, and your physical, as well as mental strength, were getting much weaker. The door started to close, and the ray of light was going away.

Boom

As Gon's hands slammed against the wall, a large sound was made, but the light came back. Not only did Gon help open the door with his strength, but he also gave everyone determination and hope. You used every last bit of power in your body, pouring it all in your hands to push open the door.

You collapsed, as did your friends. But you opened the door. And not just one door, two. You could feel the breeze of the wind and the warmth of the sun on your face, no longer being blocked by the tall wall. You really did it. You really were going to save Killua.

But of course, it wasn't that easy. You had made it to the butlers' quarters, where you had one final test. It seemed simple enough, but you knew it was going to be difficult. A guy had a coin, all you had to do was follow it and guess what hand it was in.

He had started. Without removing his eyes from you and your friends, he moved the coin around at a speed so fast it was like lightning.

"Which hand is the coin in?"

You look at your friends, before telling him your answer.

"Right." Kurapika and Gon had the same answer as you, but Leorio was eliminated. Only 3 chances left.

He moved the coin again, this time even faster.

"Left." Gon had the same answer as you. That left only 2 chances.

With one final round, you thought winning would be guaranteed, as long as guessed separate answers. But 2 more butlers had joined, leaving 6 options to choose from. Or so it looked like, but you knew better.

When it was finally time to choose, Gon had no idea. He rubbed his temples and slouched onto the couch.

"I-I don't know."

That left you. You were the final stand.

"In the guys' hands behind me."

The butler was surprised at first, but smiled after, bowing his head before going to get Killua.

"How did you know the coin was there?" (Gon)

You shrugged, "I just followed it."

"Ho-" (Kurapika)

"KILLUA!!"

Gon jumped up from the couch and ran to the entrance of the hallway where Killua was standing.

"Hey Gon."

It wasn't that Killua didn't want to see Gon, it was just that his eyes were fixated on you. You didn't know what to do, your feelings towards him were so mixed. He killed your parents, but he saved your life. And, he showed an affection that no one had before.

You both stare at each other for a second, as you fake-smile at him. He runs over and lifts you up, hugging you.

"Y/N..."

You release yourself from his grip, looking down at your feet.

"Hi Killua..."

He must've realized something was wrong because he grabbed your head and stroked your hair.

"I missed you, I was worried."

You nod, "I know..."

"I-"

You hug him, this time not being tense. He hugs you back.

"I like you, Y/N."
