Gulf made it on time at the school drop off.

"Princess, remember to take your time, read the questions carefully, and, most of all, give your best." Gulf looked at Laura through the rearview mirror of his car as she was getting out.

"Yes, brother, I will give my best, and you will feel proud of me." Laura smiled as she says this, and soon after, ran toward the schoolyard.

Gulf noticed how she talked to other children, and even smile.

"I would do anything to see you happy, princess. You are the only one in my life that can make me smile."

Gulf thought of this as he was getting ready to embrace the new day, a hectic day ahead of him.

For the past two years, he had taken the same road every day, well, almost every day. Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki helped him from time to time by picking Laura up, mainly when her daughter Malee used to go to school.

Now Malee spends most of her days inside her hospital room after symptoms of Fenux returned.

That was almost six months ago. Gulf still remembered that horrible day.

The day he had to give Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki the news that the Fenux disease came back. Her daughter needed to stay in the hospital to receive the treatment once again.

Gulf arrived at the hospital employee's parking lot a few minutes later. Looking at his watch, he knew that he came just in time to get a cup of coffee and go straight to the meeting room.

Gulf grabbed his briefcase from the back of the car, headed to the first floor of the hospital, and get coffee.

At the vending machine, he inserted the amount of money needed and pressed the button to get the coffee.

"It is a wonder; we humans can invent a machine that can give us coffee as good as if it made at home, but we are still unable to help a child get cured."

Gulf was standing there, looking at how the white cup is filled with the steamy brown liquid.

Bending down to get the coffee, he heard a familiar voice.

"Today is your last chemotherapy. How are you feeling?" Gulf heard Bryan's mom said this as they passed by him towards the Aoi ward to get his treatment.
