"Today is the start of a new adventure. New challenges to face, new memories to make, and new obstacles to overcome." ~N. Panwar~

A/N: I am not a person who cries easily, but I don't know why I choked up writing some of Laura's part. Laura is still a child even when she acts all grown-up sometimes. What do you think?  *(DOL) Department of Licensing.  Once again, I apologize in advance for any grammar mistakes. I try to catch them before I publish the chapter, still find some after. I will edit the chapters after I finish with all of them. This story has more than 20 chapters, currently, I finished chapter 26.  PCTTO.

Days before....

As soon as Gulf and Laura left, Mew had to sit down for a moment, the emotions he felt of knowing that Gulf and Laura will be living with him was too much the handle. The overwhelmed feeling was suffocating him.

Both hands on his mouth, making the prayer position. "I cannot believe it. They are coming to live with me." Mew was talking aloud but to himself. Even though his mom was next to him, he was in his own world.

Mew proceeds to cover his face and laughs.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Ratri is observing how her son is acting up. She is feeling overwhelmed as well but is not because they will be new people in the house. The feeling of seeing her son smile again is priceless.

Mrs. Ratri sat next to her son, clasped both of his hands on her soft, warm ones. Mew looked at his mom and noticed how her eyes glisten.

"Son, I am so proud of you, I know how hard you try to stay calm and not give your opinion when Dr. Gulf and Laura were deciding if they should stay."

Mew gently moves his mom's hands to his forehead, then proceeds to kiss them. "Mom, I told Gulf that I will respect his decision. I tried my best to let them decide. I felt like dying from anxiety." Mew got up and decided to walk around the backyard; a few steps behind was Lan, following Mew, slowly as he does not want to disturbed Mew's thoughts.

"Mrs. Ratri, a phone call for you. A lady named Ms. Carole would like to speak to you." Penchan handed her the cellphone.

Lamai looked at the phone screen and did not recognize the number. "Hello, this is Lamai Ratri speaking. How may I help you?" As soon as she finished saying those lines, she regrets it. She knew she sounded more like a receptionist.

A soft voice responded. "Hello, Mrs. Ratri, this is Carole King. I am sorry, I am trying to reach your son, but he does not answer his cellphone. He told me that I could talk to you as well." Ms. Carole's voice and the name sounds faintly familiar to Mrs. Ratri now.

A softly breezed disturbed Mrs. Ratri's hair, she proceeds to fix it by placing it on the back of her ears. "Ms. Cole, how are you? Yes, now I recall your name. Let me tell my son you are calling him, give me a moment, please."

"Yes, I wait, thank you." Ms. King said on the other side of the line.

Ms. King could hear Mrs. Ratri walking and calling Mew, even when Mrs. Ratri was covering her phone.

"Mew, son, Ms. Cole, is trying to reach you, but you are not answering your phone. Here, she called my cellphone." Mew touches his pockets looking to where he was seating, he realized he left it there, even worse, it was in silence.

Mew took the phone from his mom. Placing his right arm on her shoulders, Mew and Lamai went back to the table by the pool.

"Ms. Cole, my apologies, I was distracted and was not able to take your call. I am excited to tell you that you got the job. Starting tomorrow, we have work to do."
