"A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost" ~Marion Garretty~
"And suddenly you just know it's time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings. ~Unknown~
A/N: Mew's address is my own creation, only the zip code is real.
"To move in with him?" Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki asked as soon as Gulf told her what is on his head all this time.
"What are you going to do?" Gulf look at her with a blank expression; he has no idea what he will do.
"Honestly, the idea of moving in with for the sake of my research is not bad. The thing is that I need to think about Laura. Mew and I know each other for a short period for me to decide something as important as for us to move in with him." Gulf starts to play with the tissue he was holding.
Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki touches Gulf's shoulder. "Gulf, sometimes you don't need to know a person for a long time to really know how they are. There are cases where you may even live with someone for more than ten years and surprise you."
Gulf stops twisting the tissue. "So, you mean the idea of moving in with him is possible?"
"Of course, it is. I see his point of wanting to have a companion/friend with him. I see the point of needing someone to fund your research, but most importantly, Laura needs a steady place." Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki holds Gulf's hands.
Gulf looks down at her hands, entwined with his. He felt the soft, warm hand and relaxed for a bit.
"But how do I tell Laura?" Gulf got up and began to pace the floor.
Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki got up from her chair and stops Gulf. "Gulf, please sit down and listen to me. I see you as a good friend, my only friend. I know what Mew is feeling by not having someone to talk to. Sure, he has a mother and stepfather, but it is not the same as having a friend. You told me how happy he was about the idea of having people around him. You also need to find a sponsor, and Laura needs to interact with more people other than the children and nurses."
"Yes, he looked pleased, but that happiness disappeared when I told him that I was not sure about it." Gulf lowered his head as he remembers Mew crying outside the hospital.
"Gulf, go and talk to Laura. She is smart and mature enough to understand. This environment is not good for Laura to grow up in. I do love her like a daughter and for this reason. I don't want her to remember her childhood inside a hospital when she is not even sick. She needs happy memories, go and talk to her, and depending on what she says, you can then decide and give him the answer." She gave a warm smile to Gulf.
"This is crazy, it has been Laura and I living together for a long time. Now, we may live with someone else."
"That's life, Gulf. Sometimes we don't know what's ahead. We just need to be brave and take the jump."
Gulf laughs. "When have you become so wiser?"
She laughs as well. "I have been this way for along time. The thing is that you hardly noticed the people around you. Your eyes are always looking at a petri dish, the children, and Laura." Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki counted to three as she named them.
"Am I really that aloof when it comes to my surrounding?" [Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki rolls her eyes].
"Gulf, you hardly see people for who they are. I think if I may say so, your only friend, a true friend." Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki tilted her head and gave a childish smile.
Gulf could not hold it and smile as well.
"You know that he removed the second condition when he noticed that I was not sure? He said that he will still fund the research."
